In a radical report, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said the system of currencies and capital rules which binds the world economy is not working properly, and was largely responsible for the financial and economic crises.
-snip-
"Replacing the dollar with an artificial currency would solve some of the problems related to the potential of countries running large deficits and would help stability," said Detlef Kotte, one of the report's authors. "But you will also need a system of managed exchange rates. Countries should keep real exchange rates [adjusted for inflation] stable. Central banks would have to intervene and if not they would have to be told to do so by a multilateral institution such as the International Monetary Fund."
The proposals, included in UNCTAD's annual Trade and Development Report , amount to the most radical suggestions for redesigning the global monetary system.
Although many economists have pointed out that the economic crisis owed more to the malfunctioning of the post-Bretton Woods system, until now no major institution, including the G20 , has come up with an alternative.

Lately all those “wacky, nut job conspiracy theories” of old seem to be coming true!
Damn...they were right after all.
Nuts, indeed.
Oh...heck...kick 'em out and then say just the threat of doing that is what caused us to do so.
Maybe they will call it a “U”ro or perhaps a “UN”ro.
The U N has been an enemy of America for many years.
Hopefully this will wake people up to that fact.
They are jumping the gun. First they must get a global carbon tax that makes the UN independent of funding from member countries, THEN push a global currency (theirs).
how about the peso?
Anyone with a brain knows this and has their investments in another currency.Various world currencies have risen against the USD by as much as 20% over the last year.
The Canadian Dollar is a case in point. The Canadian Bank of Canada will intefere with the rise in the CD at around 96 cents, acting to devalue the CD against the USD. A dumb move done simply to maintain a short term advantage in balance of trade with the USA.
If floated free the CD would now be worth 1.02-1.05 on the USD.
This fact has been well hidden by the MSM and its natonal socialist propaganda aparatchiks.
Obama, The World Wide Caliphates best friend.Canadians will soon grow to hate him as he wrecks their trade with the USA on a pro union thug agenda
“Maybe they will call it a Uro or perhaps a UNro.”
And people will yell “UNO” when they have only one left.
they were always coming true. people just don’t like to leave their comfort zone.
Heck, just look at the 30s. Obvious major-ass problem; huge; had to be dealt with, and a majority were like “meh, it’ll be ok”
While obama is striving to debase the American currency ... go figure!
So, what part of the UN Charter authorizes this attempted power grab?
And let me guess... the UN will be responsible for printing the money, right?

Indeed. It’s been about 8 months since anyone accused someone of wearing the ‘tin foil’ hat.
Some essential history if you are to fully grasp the rot and the plot — at the core of this thoroughly corrupt gaggle of over-educated morons for whom Obamessiah is the poster boy:
