It can’t happen here!

At Wilson’s urging, a Sedition Act (not unlike the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 ) forbade Americans from criticizing their own government in a time of war. Citizens could not “utter, print, write or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language” about the government or the military. The Postmaster General was given the authority to revoke the mailing privileges of those who disobeyed. About 75 periodicals were were shut down by the government in this way and many others were given warnings.

In fact, the Justice Department created the precursor to the Gestapo called the American Protective League. Its job was to spy on fellow citizens and turn in “seditious” persons or draft dodgers. In September of 1918 in NYC, the APL rounded up about 50,000 people.

Wilson's Justice Department started its own secret police force in the American Protective League. Members of the APL (some 250,000 of them) spied on their fellow citizens, looking for anti-war, anti-government or "subversive" sentiment. Working with the Justice Department, they arrested as many as 175,000 Americans for these sentiments. Many who were arrested ended up in jail.

In June 1917, the IWW presents a list of demands to Bisbee's mining companies, including an end to discrimination against minority and foreign workers. When the companies turned down every demand, a strike was called. Rumors begin circulating that the IWW leadership have been infiltrated by German sympathizers. In the middle of the night, armed vigilantes [Loyalty League] round up 1,200 workers, force them into 24 cattle cars of a train, ship them to New Mexico, and abandon them in a desolate area of the desert where they are forced to remain for weeks without shelter. The survivors are then rounded up by US troops, who incarcerate them in camps for months without charge. The authorities in Bisbee guard all roads into town to prevent the men, or any other undesirables, from entering.

In May 1918, the Sedition Act imposes "a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than twenty years, or both" upon anyone disposed to "utter, print, write, or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the form of government of the United States."

So what happened to the Second Amendment? Where were all the guns then? Too many people think it will happen with a flash of thunder and lightning. It will be the siren going by to the next house over when the "gun nut' and probably child abuser (might as well throw that in when the MSM is making it up), assaults an "Officer of the law during the performance of his duty". Are you going to shoot at the police car as it goes by?

It happens slowly by increments and the guys doing it will just be doing the job they were ordered to do. They won't be monsters, nor will they be wearing long black trench coats. The National Guard went door to door during Katrina, collecting guns from citizens despite the Constitutional protection of the Second Amendment. I wouldn't count on the army. Veterans, yes, but not the uniformed Officer Corps.

People here have thrown out figures of millions of gun owners vs the little nancy boys in college and the hoodlums on the streets. Those millions of gun owners have jobs, houses, reputations, wives and daughters. All hostages to fortune, which they stand to lose if they 'Stand Tall'.

Balance this against the fact that many of those who do fight back will be the embarrassing sorts who say impolitic things. We saw the controversy over Rush Limbaugh’s comments and much of the criticism of him came from so-called conservatives. If Rush Limbaugh embarrasses them, what do you imagine they will think when Officer Jason Pelowski is buried with his weeping family in attendance? Do you think the ever so-fair MSM will actually investigate what happened? Do you think that guys like Officer Pelowski won’t be killed by hot tempered conservatives when it could have been avoided? When things get ugly, they actually get ugly and not everyone on the other side will be who you think they are. So how many gun owners do you think you will get now? Millions? You will be lucky to get 1% of that!

Who usually wins these wars?

Remember most people are very dumb, they get there news from the daily show. Obongo is thought of as a “moderate” his lackeys push they agenda and he pretends to be a "moderate" selecting RINOS so the morons say see "Obongo is not a radical" If things start going sour Obongo simply says they were over zealous and the media white washes the whole thing

For example:
When Eric Holders called America a nation of cowards, Obongo said that he would have worded it differently.

Wonder what the anti-gunners plan on using for weapons?

The stuff that your tax money will provide to the Obama Youth Corps. Plus a lot of stuff from Military stocks. Of course that's if they can find it where the supply sergeants "lose" it.

Please don't compare Socialism and Communism to American freedom.

You can speculate all you wish, about what you wish, but you have much to learn about the American attitude towards walking away without a fight.

Are you even an American? NOOB?

Try going to the local bar and talking shit, and see what happens.

If you think Americans will lay down because they have family, you are wrong.
Americans will stand up and fight to protect their family and country.
Think about that. God, Family, Country.

Decent men do not usually win these conflicts.
They are savage and they are ugly and

Vietnam ring a bell? You want to call that a victory? Or was it a draw?
First invasion of Canada?
Second American invasion of Canada in 1812?

All of which is beside the point that was made. Civil wars was the topic, and some were won by the right. Most were not. That was the point. Again reading comprehension!

You need this, I can tell.

“What good is an “army” that is afraid of guns and can’t shoot straight?”

Maybe they intend to bring in a foreign army. Or an army of illegals. Or terrorists. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

We had that war won in 1970; the North was seriously considering pursuing some sort of truce, which would have probably left South Vietnam a free and prosperous country like South Korea.

Then, Jane Fonda and John Kerry convinced them to "hang in there" while they worked on convincing the traitors in Congress to give up.

You are correct that our military did not lose the war in Vietnam. However, when the political aims of the war are not met, that war is “lost”. We left that conflict in a most shameful manner, and allowed our friends to be overwhelmed and butchered. Yeah, we lost that war.

And the whole time this is happening, they are watching the Internet closely, keeping track of who is for them and who is against them. It won’t be difficult to track us down and make severe examples out of us. That is how they will control the mass Lemmings into submission.

Hell, they already have panicked them with their Global Warming hysteria. This country’s population is nothing more than a flock of mindless seagulls.
