Lawmakers in 20 states move to reclaim sovereignty (Paging General Robert E. Lee)

NEW YORK – As the Obama administration attempts to push through Congress a nearly $1 trillion deficit spending plan that is weighted heavily toward advancing typically Democratic-supported social welfare programs, a rebellion against the growing dominance of federal control is beginning to spread at the state level.

So far, eight states have introduced resolutions declaring state sovereignty under the Ninth and Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, including Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington.

Analysts expect that in addition, another 20 states may see similar measures introduced this year, including Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.

"What we are trying to do is to get the U.S. Congress out of the state's business," Oklahoma Republican state Sen. Randy Brogdon told WND.

The time has come to "form a more perfect union" by states rights. The battle of the states has begun. History is in the making once again.

New Hampshire, overrun with Massholes and increasingly subject to voter fraud, will not adopt this resolution. The Governor and legislature completely support — with hands out — the Big Spender on Pennsylvania Avenue.

There are two different forces within each state - the independence forces and the socialist collaborators.

What we are probably going to see is a dominance of the independence forces in a number of states who are going to shout down the communists in their states.

I will contact my state rep TODAY and try to add tiny Delaware. Now THAT would be a slap in the face.

Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

This amendment sounds good on its face, but thanks to things like stretching the Interstate Commerce Clause to include anything our Congress wants it’s become meaningless. I’m generally not in favor of adding new amendments - but maybe we need one to restrict the Commerce Clause.

We can't be blamed for wondering if there is any sanity left among elected officials anywhere in the United States. This is a welcome article. The Peoples Republic of Minnesota is conspicuous in absence from the list.

I will be contacting my State Houses and pushing for immediate consideration of such a bill, and with a lot of the emphasis put on holding the Feds to the 9th and 10th amendments, I don’t see where they would oppose it...

Agreed! Anyone that thinks any state is going to be able to withstand the federal highway and medical payment blackmail among others, is living in a dream world.

Oh how I would love to be proved wrong. It has already been postulated in this forum, how red states need to band together in defense of the American way of life, before it is too late.

Texas, Alaska, Wyoming, and South Dakota, need to be at the forefront of the battle. The other nineteen states mentioned would be gravy. I suspect however, that CA and HI are definately a bridge too far. There are other far more conservative states,
