Dinosaurs frolic with Adam and Eve at creationism museum

PETERSBURG, United States (AFP) - Dinosaurs frolic with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and an animatronic Noah directs work on his Ark in a multimillion dollar creationism museum set to open next week in Kentucky.

Designed by the creator of the King Kong and Jaws exhibits at the Universal Studios theme park, the stunning 60,000 square foot (5,400 square-metre) facility is built for a specific purpose: refuting evolution and expanding the flock of believers in a literal interpretation of the Bible.

"You'll get people into a place like this that you can't get into a church with a stick of dynamite," said founder Ken Ham from his office overlooking the museum's manicured grounds.

Polls consistently show that nearly half of Americans believe God created humans in their present form less than 10,000 years ago. Only about 13 percent believe God played no part in the origin of human life.

Ham does not blame evolution per se for society's ills. He believes that sin has been around since Adam and Eve took their fateful bite of apple about 5,700 years before Charles Darwin published "On the Origin of Species."

But he says the theory of evolution has been used to undermine the validity of the literal truth of the Bible, heralding a dangerous age of moral relativism which can be blamed for everything from racism to the Holocaust.

Located just outside of Cincinnati near the intersection of the states of Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, nearly two thirds of the population of the United States lives within a 650-mile (1,050-kilometer) drive of the Creation Museum.

It is expected to draw at least 250,000 people a year when it opens on May 28.

"Oooohhh-kay? and this means?"

Obviously, It means we creationists are in possession of a time machine. We use it to travel back in time to contaminate our early history with accounts {and images} of dinosaurs and great floods.....Just so we can be a nuisance to Darwin.

I disagree - there is nothing rational about saying human life begins upon retirement. The ambiguity with abortion has to do with when a fetus is considered a human being with full rights. Your example isn’t ambiguous in any way - the person is a human being both before and after retirement.

As I said, Jewish law didn’t think life began in terms of full vesting or rights until birth. That’s not an irrational position.

Like I said, many longstanding traditions disagree with you on this. We might disagree with them, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t arrive to a rational conclusion on the matter.

I’m sure there were several small buses, filled with drooling people, at the opening.

Wow...how scientific.

did it occurr to you that these primitive people may have stumbled upon archeological artifacts of dinosaur bones etc?

and just because there were floods....its the bible two by two animals ..looks like that picture didn’t have the two by two.

I should have warned you- when you call their (untested/unprovable)suppositions about the past a “theory” they get all swelled up and big headed.

Try using the term “Guess” from now on. (Educated Guess, when being polite)

It’s much more accurate.

"Wow...how scientific."

No, Post 102 is just phony story. - But no more phony than some others.

"did it occurr to you that these primitive people may have stumbled upon archeological artifacts of dinosaur bones etc?"

It's much more likely these people made the effort to record this "information" because it actually happened.

" and just because there were floods....its the bible two by two animals ..looks like that picture didn’t have the two by two."

Not sure I completely understand your point.

"The ambiguity with abortion has to do with when a fetus is considered a human being with full rights. "

It is irrational to believe that a human being should not have full rights to life (please don't add all the rights of a grown person because I know that is not true for under age kids).

"As I said, Jewish law didn’t think life began in terms of full vesting or rights until birth. That’s not an irrational position."

As I stated before, this is not in the Bible.

Like I said, many longstanding traditions disagree with you on this. We might disagree with them, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t arrive to a rational conclusion on the matter.

Science has disproved these traditions.

As for the retired, There are "rational" people that state that even they are not fully human and should be euthanized.

Time for the Republican party to divorce the flat earth society.

Nonsense. We Republicans need to learn to embrace intellectual diversity. Besides, those who fail to learn the timeless truths presented in the Flat Earth Society FAQ risk falling off the edge into the abysmal chasm. This is not just about politics, it is a public safety issue.

The point is that the people who come to conclusions different than you came to are not, by definition, irrational, nor are their conclusions irrational.

I think a person can look at the facts and decide that a fetus 6 weeks along isn’t the same as a fully formed born infant, nor the same as a young child, nor an adult.

I disagree with their policy choices, but that doesn’t mean their conclusion on this matter is patently wrong. Different people can look at the same facts and come to different conclusions.

In addition to the errors somebody else pointed out, in post #25 you used “there” instead of “they’re.” That’s not just a simple typo.

Before you make fun of somebody else’s education, you should check your own out.

Great, as soon as "rational" people decide, on the same "rational" basis as the "rational" choice to kill a baby in the womb, to eunthanize retired people (like they "rationalized" in Denmark) because they do not contribute anymore I will disagree rationally.

This great party along with this great country was founded by the “religious right”

Actually no. The religion of American Fundamentalism, an essential componemt of "the religious right" is only about 120 years old.
