Didn't McCain, with his part in McCain-Feingold, make it illegal for Bush to either encourage or discourage the Swift Boat Vets? As best I understand the law, he cannot coordinate with them to any extent. If Bush says, "I wish you guys would cut this out", would that be coordination?

Bush can condemn these ads right after Kerry gives the Hollywood money back for being nasty to the President and condemns Bruce Springsteen and the like for their anti-Bush concerts and - it goes without saying - condemns Michael Moore just because he is contemptable and tells Dan Rather to be "fair and balanced." Since that ain't going to happen, I think the Swift Vets ads should keep on rolling!!

I don't think either Kerry or Bush should address movies (however blatently political) or ads made or run by other people. What do you think?

Bush will be breaking the law if he condemns the Swift Boat Vets, publically or privately.
They are a 527 and therefore cannot have any association with the candidates. Nor can the candidates support or condemn them. Thank McCain, but that's the new law.
So this poll is based on stupidity and ignorance.
