On Wednesday, we reported on some insane, racially inflammatory comments Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) made in the aftermath of the guilty verdict that was reached this week in the murder case of Karmelo Anthony, who admittedly stabbed fellow 17-year-old high school student Austin Metcalf to death in April 2025.
Anthony's defenders have made this case about race right from the start. Anthony is black; Metcalf was white. Anthony has contended that he had a right to self-defense after Metcalf allegedly pushed him during a heated exchange under Metcalf's high school's tent during a track meet, where Anthony was asked more than once to leave, according to witnesses.
Not surprisingly, Crockett not only took Anthony's side in portraying him as the true victim, but she actually suggested during a Tuesday podcast that the multi-tool knife used in the killing was "small," while pressing her fingers close together to make it look like the blade was about an inch long, as someone else could be heard comparing it to a Swiss Army knife. "I would argue the size of it alone, you wouldn’t even think it’s a deadly weapon," Crockett went on to claim.

Considering the racially charged, heightened tensions in the Collin County community since the verdict was handed down, it was a time for people in positions of power and/or influence to try to lower the temperature, not to fan the flames by proving you don't know anything at all about the case except the races of the victim and his convicted killer.
In an update to this story, we're learning more about the type of knife used in the attack, courtesy of the Collin County District Attorney's office:
The knife Karmelo Anthony used to kill Austin Metcalf was a Walmart multi-tool with a serrated blade – and it sells for just $13.
Anthony’s knife came from the Walmart camping brand “Ozark Trail,” and had a 3.5-inch blade, the Collin County District attorney.
It is a 6-in-1 multitool equipped with a flashlight and glass breaker, and is “ideal for someone who hunts, camps or who travels often,” according to the Walmart listing.
At the trial, the medical examiner stated "that Metcalf was stabbed through the heart." Further, "She described the wound as gaping, two-and-a-half inches in length, and not survivable."

One X user who has that type of knife provided a video demonstration of what all it does. It has a "big a** f***king blade that locks. It's a knife. It'll kill you," he noted:
To be clear, a knife of any size can seriously injure or kill someone, so Crockett's point was stupid and dangerously irresponsible, no matter how you look at it. But it is worth pointing out for the record what the size of this knife actually was to counter her idiotic falsehood that it was only about an inch long.

Back a century or so ago the gals used hat pins for defense. A 4” hat pin properly used can be deadly.
I think it’s a comment on how “out of sync with reality” the black mob is on this whole issue. The knife that Karmelo used — the knife that killed Metcalf — they claim that it was an itty bitty thing that couldn’t hurt anyone. But let’s recap: It killed Metcalf. It is “the murder weapon”. Trying to convince people that it was just some sort of harmless multi-tool is ridiculous. It’s obviously a deadly weapon.
This is not helping those that want to stand against “racism.”
For some, no matter what was said or done, no matter what the outcome and how things were handled in the aftermath, they will ALWAYS side with the black person merely because they are black.
That folks is racism in its unadulterated form.

Crockett distorts the size of everything she talks about.
The fact that he used the knife to kill Austin Metcalf kinda blunts the argument that it’s not a deadly weapon.

Unless the killer was well practiced opening the knife, it's likely he had the blade
open and locked. Almost like he really wanted to use it.
If Metcalfe were black, would their response have changed? That is the question the people upset over this need to be asked.
Honestly, I think that Carmelo got a reduced sentence because he is black. If he’d stabbed a black teenager, he’d have gotten life. And it wouldn’t have made anything more than local headlines.
Agree. But the Jasmine types are race baiters who only need to promulgate a brief social media phrase embedded in a lie.
Then the mob is enraged.
Women on a TV news panel held up “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” signs but that was NEVER true of statements or circumstances. It was a lie.
And the dog faced Mikie Sherrill, Gov. of NJ who said “and we know ICE agents have killed Americans”. She means one lesbian woman who deliberately drove into an agent with her vehicle and he was able to get off a round. And an unstable man on the sidewalk carrying two extra magazines for his weapon who confronted agents and was killed before he could kill anyone. That amount of ammo meant he intended a mass shooting, not a protection against a mugging.
But the implication is ICE arrests of perps have resulted in machine gun spraying into college student crowds in a massacre. Never, ever happened.
And now Jasmine’s BS will make people think a huge football player (he was at a track meet and not extremely large) was bullying and overpowering an innocent black teen. He did no such thing.
And it was NOT a Swiss Army knife which elicited giggles from the black news panel. He knew how to shove the blade between ribs in the area of the heart. If he had jabbed at the victim’s arm muscle or had hit a rib the victim might have lived.
I can’t reliably identify the **exact make and model** of a knife from a single image.
What I can say is:
* It appears to be an **out-the-front (OTF) automatic knife**.
* Single-edge drop-point blade with a dark coating.
* Olive drab / green handle.
* Glass-breaker style pommel at the rear.
* Side-mounted slider switch.
Visually, it resembles knives from companies such as:
* Microtech (Ultratech-style OTF)
* Benchmade (Infidel-style OTF)
* AKC
* Cobratec
* Lightning OTF
However, many OTF knives share almost identical shapes, and there are numerous clones and rebrands. Without seeing:
* Any logo,
* Blade markings,
* The opposite side,
* The pocket clip,
* Or the packaging,
I can’t confidently determine the exact model.
If you can upload:
1. A higher-resolution photo,
2. Both sides of the knife,
3. A close-up of any text on the blade or handle,
I can narrow it down much further.
I am going to say probably not. I am going off of what happened a few years ago where a black minor female tried to stab a black woman because she told her to do the dishes.
A police officer shot the minor female because she would not drop the knife.
The media claimed it was "just a knife fight".
Problem is that a knife fight can only happen if both are armed. Only one has a knife and pursuing, the other unarmed and retreating, not a knife fight.
Any kind of violence can be excused if your culture says it can.
Which is where the problem lies.

If K brings a plastic spork over and stabs M, and some fluke happens and a bit of spork penetrates M’s heart it’s a stretch to say K intended to kill M, because sporks don’t usually have that effect.
