The history of the Trojan horse is probably one of the most famous stories ever told. A gigantic wooden horse is loaded with Greek soldiers and presented to the Trojans as a gift. Unsuspecting, they swallow the bait and pull the horse into the city. Under cover of darkness the Greeks slip out of the horse and open the gates to their comrades. Only hours later the mighty Troy goes up in flames. But what if the myth of the horse is not true at all? New, groundbreaking findings show that one of the most famous stories of all time will probably have to be rewritten. The Trojan horse was probably not a horse at all. But then how did the Greeks outwit their enemies? And what history will we find in the history books in the future?

Does it matter? It’s a fun story and has given us the ol’ “Trojan Horse” saying which is handy very often.
Perhaps it was a battering ram, but with the cylinder hollowed out to hold a few Greek soldiers. The Greeks left the device at the gate and withdrew like they were going to use it tomorrow. The Trojans see it and sneak out at night and haul it in to keep the Greeks from using it. During the night the soldiers hidden inside the cylinder exit the device and overpower the Trojan gate guards and the rest is history...........
History’s biggest deception was Satan convincing Eve that sin will make her all wise. Today’s liberals are still believing that lie.
Okay, so, speaking of rabbits, the main topic video showed up in the Roku YT app, then the recommended vids list shown all got shuffled and it vanished. I came in here to search for it, and first found an AI generated ancient Greek ancestor of Jessica Rabbit. I haven't watched this one, in fact, haven't finished the main one yet. Thought I'd post this link for *no reason at all*.The Trojan Horse:
Brilliant Strategy or Myth?

It was actually a horse’s Trojan.
I think the biggest deception was how the Allies fooled Germany on D-Day.
It was a Camel ?
No, the covid virus and it’s subsequent “vaccines” are the world’s greatest deception...closely followed by White people are inherently racist and obama was born in the US.

I would gladly hide in there.
How about a large wooden badger?
I believed it.
But then I also believed my brother when we drove by a harbor and he exclaimed, “Oh, look! They’ve raised the boats in the harbor.” He explained that boats are waterproof and they sink them in the fall for protection and raise them again in the spring. Years later, as a new 19 year old bride, I repeated that same story to my new husband as we drove by the same harbor.
Sigh.
LOL! I used to do that to my younger brother.
Darn you, Charlie Brown! Brothers!
What did he do to you back?
He always tried, but was never successful.

Neither was I. He was 8 years older and 6 1/2’ tall. Lost from day 1.
Apollo was considered the god protector of Troy.
But why a horse? Because Troy was attacked by the Greeks and Poseidon was the Greek god of the sea, earthquakes, storms AND HORSES. So possibly, it was the Greek tales of Poseidon that provided Homer with the idea of Troy being attacked by a Greek horse.
In fact, there is a prominent Greek tale where Poseidon transforms into a horse to pursue the goddess Demeter.
Also, in fact, Poseidon is frequently credited with creating the first horse as a gift during his contest with Athena for control of Athens, which is why he is often called Poseidon Hippios (Lord of Horses).
Thus, Homer had in front of him tales of Poseidon masquerading as a horse in pursuit of a female (a goddess), and of Poseidon presenting a horse as a gift as part of trying to win control of Athens.
Possibly Homer - a Greek - then transmuted it all into a mythic tale of how Troy was defeated by the Greeks.
Homer was the “nationalistic” fake news Greek champion of his day, but he kept true to Greek mythology and thus was enjoyed and appreciated by the Greeks.
The Trojan Horse is not in the Iliad. The Iliad ends with the death of Hector.
That Troy existed is beyond dispute. Troy is a fact. Probably the “Trojan War” which resulted in the city’s destruction is a fact, but that’s not as certain as the fact that Troy was a city.
