Manhattan-sized interstellar object is covered in a layer of CO2, shocking scientists, NASA images reveal

Both the James Webb Space Telescope and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory observatory SPHEREx snapped new images of 3I/ATLAS this week, almost two months after it was first spotted in the skies above Chile.

3I/ATLAS glows red in the new images with a seemingly threatening aura, though most scientists believe the object to be merely a 12-mile-wide interstellar comet.

The snaps showed that 3I/ATLAS is “outgassing” as it approaches the Sun, which was expected. However, the object is dumping out a conspicuous amount of carbon dioxide and a surprisingly small amount of water and carbon monoxide, according to experts, including Harvard astrophysicist Avie Loeb.

“The H2O mass loss rate is only 5% of the CO2 output. This is 16 times more extreme than expected for a typical comet at the same distance from the Sun,” Loeb wrote in a Medium post Tuesday.

The object is shrouded in a layer of CO2, preventing deeper observation of what it is constitutionally composed of, according to Loeb.

The amount of the gas lost off the object as it travels is just a minuscule fraction of its overall massive size — possibly indicating that the design could be intentional.

“The CO2 mass loss amounts to the ablation of a millimeter thick layer from the surface of a 46-kilometer object over a period of a few years.”

“In other words, a relatively thin outer layer is sufficient to maintain the observed cloud of CO2 gas around 3I/ATLAS. What lies under this outer skin remains unknown,”

There has been some speculation the object is possibly seeding the solar system, and eventually earth will pass close to the spreading debris field of gas or dust like matter being released, described as tiny particulates that are being ejected and left behind by the object. Once earth eventually passes through this ejected field of “dust” it will appear as a great meteor shower event. So there ya have it.

Cows? Methane powered?

It is Exxon-Mobil. They have been pumping oil from this for years and bringing it back to earth in their huge solar system tankers that incredible have no radar signature and thus quite invisible. Those Exxon boys are bad hombres!

Who said anything about aliens?

Dr. Abraham "Avi" Loeb, Director of Harvard's Institute for Theory and Computation.

Haaaaaaavard, go figure.

Another PhD proving it's

Piled higher & Deeper

Meanwhile, back in the real universe......

Most of the known comets come from the Oort Cloud, on the outskirts of our Solar System.

Anything traveling as fast as comet 3I/Atlas is from outside of our general area. It will travel around the Sun, and head out to the great beyond, and probably be captured gravitationally by another system, someday.

if it is not a comet we are eventually toast. but if it is aliens it is far more likely we toast ourselves long before any actual aliens could get here. Assuming of course that the craft is not full of nanobots to do their version of terraforming and assuming they want an earth type climate as a starting point

I’ve seen some videos on YouTube claiming that 3I/ATLAS is changing direction and coming our way.

The object is not approaching earth and will never come anywhere near earth.

In fact, 3I/ATLAS is not in the same orbital plane of any planets and is unlikely to interact with them. Outgassing may change the course of this object from a pure ballistic trajectory, but NASA estimates the expected nearest approach to planets as follows:

I don’t want to get insulty but what makes you think a comet like mass is going to disintegrate in ten thousand years? How does it form in the first place? Where does the energy come from that is going to melt it? No, it’s just as likely that it is millions or billions of years old and will not disintegrate in the next 10 million years.

Bombshell: The science is settled; it's an alien spacecraft
sent to incinerate the planet Earth.

You saw it here first.

Here's my unexciting, but reasonable, take:

3I/Atlas is an interesting object on a very interesting trajectory.
We should study it and learn more.

No, but it is a cubic city that is equal. Height, width and breath, and it seems to have 3 entry portals on each side. In addition, we have discovered that there are passageways that are paved with gold. On the many different vaulted levels of the flying city. And it’s headed towards earth, oh yeah, and it’s also glowing inside.

3I_Atlas was discovered near the orbit of Jupiter. It is about 5 degrees off the plane in which Earth orbits. It is moving too fast to stay in orbit around the Sun. As can be seen in this animation it gets the closest to Mars then close to Jupiter on its way out of the Solar System.

As can be seen in the animation as the comet approaches Mars it is lost to Earth views because the Sun gets in the way. Mars , however, has a half meter telescope in orbit which can view the comet as it gets close.

I know it’s not coming near us, if you read all of what I said I stated it’s a ridiculous claim by people who are just using YouTube to get as many hits as possible from gullible people. Today, one doesn’t have to be Orson Wells to fool people.
