Nearly six years ago, a space object roughly the size of a football field baffled scientists as it zipped through our solar system. The irregular shape and motion of the object, dubbed ‘Oumuamua, led to one of the most controversial astronomical mysteries, with theories that ranged from asteroid to alien probe.
But a study published Wednesday in the journal Nature offers another answer: ‘Oumuamua is a typical comet that expelled gas in an odd way as it traveled through our solar system.
“We’ve gone through every weird, crazy, possible theory—ideas that stretch the imagination to match all of these observed things, and then we figure out that it is just the simplest thing you could possibly imagine, which is just a water-rich comet,” said Darryl Seligman, a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University and co-author of the new study.
Astronomers first spotted ‘Oumuamua at an observatory in Hawaii in October 2017 as it careened through the planetary neighborhood. It passed by the sun at speeds of nearly 196,000 miles an hour. The body’s trajectory indicated that it came from across the stars, having likely traveled for many millions of years before arriving.
Observatories on the ground and in space had just weeks to characterize the interstellar object before it made a hook turn past the sun and continued its high-speed journey back into the greater Milky Way, beyond the reach of our most powerful instruments.
In that short window of scrutiny, scientists could collect only a limited amount of information about the orbit, color, shape and brightness of the tiny ‘Oumuamua. Pronounced “oh moo-uh moo-uh,” the name in the Hawaiian language means a messenger from afar arriving first, according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Have read reports on end times where they suggest that oh moo-uh moo-uh is the red dragon that will devour the child of some star formation (can’t remember what it’s called now), and is what prophecies spoke of about th3/child, and the beginning of the end times.
The star formation looks like a woman giving birth, and supposedly oh moo-uh moo-uh was headed right for it
It sounded like a pretty way out there hypothesis
If it's in he journal Nature, read no further. That is simply not a credible source of anything to do with science.

I would imagine not all alien species have invented faster than light travel. Maybe some only have the capability to accelerate to a percentage of the speed of light, and there’s various ways of doing that - solar sail, ram scoop, etc.

Well, maybe it’s the spaceship that brought the alien that mated with the she-goat that popped out Obama? Or perhaps the she-goat ate the alien and pooped out Obama? Whatever it is....it ain’t human.
I feel kinda bad to see someone with a username from a very popular sci-fi series say that there’s no way that anyone or anything can travel faster than the speed of light. Maybe various alien species laugh at our “laws of physics.” What we see and hear that is called “cutting edge technology” is lagging behind what mega conglomerates, governments and the biggest universities have behind closed doors.
And an other set of matching criteria makes it a Light Sail.

But God may have given them a couple of million years head start on us. They may have done the things we only imagine.

Rama II, Rama comes back for another visit...
Seventy years after the events of Rendezvous with Rama, a second Raman vessel enters the Solar System. Its arrival is expected, and on Earth the chosen crew of twelve readies for the voyage to unlock more of Rama’s mysteries. Interpersonal conflicts among crew members begin prior to the launch date.
After arriving, an accident kills the leader of the group while still outside Rama, and there is debate over who the replacement should be. The tools and vehicles the crew bring to Rama, based on knowledge from the first expedition, make exploring Rama easier.
The novel ends with three of the twelve astronauts abandoned inside Rama as it travels out of the Solar System.

IF it were of alien design it would likely not house alien creatures but rather serve as a probe.
The AI could have the genetic information stored so as to manipulate/recreate whatever the originator civilization programmed upon arrival at the target.
