Did Trump punk Meritless Garland and Potato Head Wray?
Remember back in the beginning of Trump's presidency when he had several leaks in the administration. Trump set up a sting to identify the leaker. It was successful.
Beginning to think that Trump identified a potential traitor and set him/her up with some fake info about Russian hoax or Jan 6 documents. Notice the specific action to bring in a safe cracker.
Here they are days later with nothing to show for it except dog feces all over themselves.
I give it a 10% probability of being true. I recall reading an article some years ago about Trump sending different documents to different people so that when the document leaked to the press, he knew exactly who leaked it.
The larger problem with this being a setup by Trump is that it would have been mostly inconceivable that anyone could predict the FBI would have the gall to make such a raid against a former president, especially on so slight a pretext as they used.
However, the safe did end up being empty, and from what we have seen of the description of the things they took, it certainly doesn't look like they found what they wanted.
And now Trump knows someone who knew about the safe (6-8 people) is a rat.
Maybe it's luck, but Trump is coming out of this thing smelling like a rose.
I cannot imagine there is a long list to review.
Keep in mind, you are hearing one side of the story. The key to this entire story is the affidavit. And we won’t hear anything about that until there is an indictment.
I am sitting on a grand jury right now. I can tell you that there have been several “ham sandwiches” that didn’t pass our smell test. I imagine any indictment starting with “Donald Trump” is going to raise some heated discussion in the back room.
My point is that rumors and innuendo love a vacuum. People are coming up with all sorts of fantastical stories about what is going on. The truth is, we don’t know. And we are receiving biased stories from all over the place.
There are plenty of folks on FR who are “law and order” folks. They are quick to point out when someone doesn’t follow the rules. Except when its Trump—then its a grand conspiracy.
My final point is we should be overly cautious about believing stories that are made up from the ether. We should double check ourselves and look at evidence, not speculation.
True.

There are days when I feel like being very serious, and there are days when this stuff is just a lark. My serious side says yes, we should exercise great caution in accepting what we hear.
My non serious side will say "Too good to check." and run with it. I guess I have not quite yet reached the level of maturity I should have.
:)

Good point.
this to me is going to come down to : declassification and who has the authority”
If its factual that the President, no matter how documented called for it and it valid the game is over.
I expect the weasel argument will be he may have called for it , but it was never done......
Sets up deniability for the raid, and leaves the impression he did have top secret/classifed info which he shouldn’t have had.
Also the weasels will use we “ cant disclose” as its too serious so we will be subjected to the MSM spinmachine forever.
I would agree, but the fact they have been persecuting the man without cause since he announced his candidacy in 2020 make me automatically assume the enemy is up to their old tricks yet again.
They've posted information about the warrant.
"Obstruction of Justice" and "Espionage."
These f***ers need some serious punishment.

I’ve heard the Deep State described as a “consensus rather than a conspiracy”. They have a lot of points of agreement, but no one person is really in charge.
As a result, they may take actions just because a bunch of them may feel that they may benefit from it, possibly in different ways.
It is a collective (including Republicans) who defend the establishment government. They have no single leader because they are drawn together from so many disparate groups, all of whom agree that the establishment--the orthodoxy--must be defended at all costs.
They most likely wouldn't agree on a single leader anyway, so what we are left with is a collective that has a kind of hive mind.
The disparate parties that make up this Deep State collective seem to have lost all objectivity and don't see that, as a group, it is defending some very unsavory types...and damaging the country and the cause of freedom.
