“it makes me wonder if the majority of the people can ever be made to see things clearly and objectively.”

Great post. I see that issue here—a lot.

We all carry intellectual and emotional baggage that influences our opinions on things. In addition I do think there is a (poorly understood) genetic component that affects whether we are more rational or more emotional, whether we are strongly affected by the opinions of authority figures or not, etc.

That is why I never take disagreement on an issue personally even if I think the person is way off base due to mass media brainwashing, for example. Some people are just more susceptible to that stuff.

They are all going on a vacation instead of taking a victory lap. Hmm....

In business people spy on each other—obviously it is routine in the political game.

What does the FBI care? They’ve been on an unfettered illegitimate fishing expedition for six years. They’ve been caught red handed repeatedly. Most of what they’ve done is blatantly illegal. Has anyone been convicted? They know absolutely that they will never have to answer for anything. They could assassinate Trump tomorrow and walk away with no concern of even a real investigation.

One of the most unlikeable guys on the planet telling us to love and be grateful to the FBI.

Yes, Washington DC exists in a thought bubble of like minded people reinforcing each others thinking.

We all saw how they reacted to Trump once he got in the swamp. Also, we can analyze what happened at the Kremlin in the days leading up to the invasion of Ukraine. All yes men were positioned in the Kremlin. No one can say anything else. So the Russian war machine is not performing as well as we would have thought.

Perhaps not, but he did have a lit light bulb over his head.

Does anyone really believe that DJT would keep sensitive, confidential documents, or information anywhere near him or his private home? He has had plenty of experience with the swamp. He didn’t just fall off a turnip truck.

I am beginning to think that the Deep State is a body without a brain (or with a very small brain)...just a giant bureaucracy that responds without thinking--striking at anyone who threatens it. There may be a centralized group who thinks it is guiding The Beast (as I have started thinking of it), but The Beast has a brain (if you can call it that) like an octopus, much of it spread all over its body.

It seems the government--bureaucratic and elected--is out of control. The right hand isn't communicating with left.

Case in point, Pelosi's visit to Taiwan last week and the FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago.

Pelosi might have inadvertently triggered China's invasion of Taiwan and the FBI might have just as inadvertently re-elected Trump.

These are not the actions of a thoughtful, well-coordinated management system/group.

They live in such a bubble that when people told Garland, “Raiding Trump’s home is a great idea! The people will love it, and it will deflate his base and lessen his support”, Garland actually believed it. That was on Monday.

On Tuesday, GOP voters went to the polls and voted almost exclusively for Trump-endorsed candidates in several states.

By Wednesday, they realized they had made a big, big mistake.

Today, Thursday, they are trying to figure out who is going to be the fall guy.

... I also have a hard time believing any documents he felt he needed he didn’t back up.

The taking of them, copies or originals, is the case they are making. They care less that he has them than that he took them.

There was no mole.

Nobody in Trumps Mara Lago inner circle not even the ficus cleaning maid knew what or where the “classified information” was because there was none.

No maid. No classified documents.

No equal justice. No due process.

Garland read the script to the MSM vs. them having to go to journolist.com and pull it down

Good points.

As part of my career I did work in .gov and did attend some fairly high level meetings—where I was often the only true subject matter expert. That meant I was the lowest ranking person in the room.

It was incredibly difficult to get political appointees to understand even the most basic facts and then to try to drag them to decisions that were even in the general range of reasonable.

They seemed primarily motivated by pleasing big party patrons and being able to spin whatever they did so it sounded good—even if was ridiculous policy.

As you correctly point out, they often failed—or even refused!—to contact others in the bureaucracy who might be affected by their decisions.

well, that’s why I’m not sure Trump punked them, because I would have expected a bobble-head Wray doll in the safe that said “pull my finger”

It’s totally plausible.

I have thought the same thing, Vet...Trump may have allowed the leaker to spring...so he could find out who was disloyal.

the one problem with that would be Trump is taking a risk on planted evidence. I don’t know if would be willing to take such a risk.
