You are exactly correct on everything you said.

One of the leaders of the state pro-life movement issued a statement on Wednesday, revealing they (the sponsors of the proposed amendment) had been polling all summer. Prior to the Dobbs decision, YES was running well ahead. After Dobbs, the numbers started shifting, getting much closer. Yet, the pro-life insiders still on Tuesday morning were expecting a close victory.

What happened shocked everyone. The left was very effective and creating hysteria and mobilizing their forces, aided and abetted by the media, as usual.

Wasn’t even close to Presidential general election turnout.

1,372,303 voted in 2020 Presidential race
1,055,566 voted in 2018 in the Governor’s race.
1,197,570 voted in 2016 Presidential race

908,932 voted on the Amendment.

Why lie?

“Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government...”

Is this not “direct democracy?” Would the Founders approve? Does this follow the spirit of the Constitution? Not the specific issue (abortion), but why have a legislative branch if mobs can just vote on every issue?

(I realize SCOTUS basically decided in Pacific States Telephone & Telegraph Co. v. Oregon
[1912] that it was not up to them to decide such issues...)

“the Kansas thing was very confusing. wonder if it was on purpose.”

If it was confusing, why was it only confusing to people who intended to vote Pro Life?

Considering the 2018 primary drew 451,000 voters and the 2014 primary drew 351,000 then 909,000 is a pretty impressive number. Far closer to presidential turnout than off year primary turnout.

Looks like Dems ARE using this to gain votes...so we have to beat them at their own game. They're so damn good at getting out the vote.

Get out and vote...in person if you can so your vote doesn't "disappear".

What was the actual wording on the ballot. I find many of questions almost contradicting themselves.

From the text you posted:

“A vote for the Value Them Both
Amendment would affirm there
is no Kansas constitutional right
to abortion...”

How is that not simple for a Pro Life Voter to understand?

Are you serious? Your a nutcase if you don’t think that is close when a typical midterm is 300-450 thousand. DU would love your stupidity.

True, it is written in legalese, but virtually no voter read it because it can be so easily and succinctly summarized in plain English. What did you not understand? Did I not explain it clearly enough for you?

Bear in mind it was the super majority pro-life legislature that wrote the proposed amendment and selected the date for it to be voted upon. There was no nefarious activity in crafting the amendment as so many here are trying to suggest.

I should not have posted here.
Not from Kansas.
No dog in this.
Not my business.
Your state, your vote, good luck

I just posted the numbers.

908k is less than 1.3 million.

Throw your tantrum if you like. I note that you still refuse to bet with me on the outcome of the November elections.

You’re okay, FRiend. You should feel free to post wherever you choose. Because what happens in one state can impact other states, we all have “a dog in the hunt.”

I don’t gamble. Of course not a shock you do. Anyway your still an idiot if you are blinded by the increase numbers of voters. Please grow up and especially get a handle on that gambling problem.

In Kentucky, the proposal is to “Amend the Kentucky Constitution to state that nothing in the state constitution creates a right to abortion or requires government funding of abortions”.

I expect this will pass.

I think it might have been a mistake for Kansas to put this in a primary election instead of the general election in November.

Perhaps, yes I’m guessing, there were many slam-dunk Republican primary races and so the Republican turnout was very low which left the decision for Democrat primary voters.

the Kansas thing was very confusing

No kidding. Anyone who actually read the ballot question has no idea which option protected children.

I doubt it has any legal force, because it makes no sense. How did it get signed off?

I only bet on sure things. I say the GOP takes the House despite your doom and gloom.

You are angry that others don’t want to join you in your prophecies of disaster.

But you don’t want any consequences for being wrong.

Why not prove that you believe your own doom? GOP doesn’t take the House I’ll leave FR. When the GOP wins you leave?

What do you have to be afraid of? You are so sure of your doom, you shouldn’t mind having skin in the game.

now if it actually said that then that would have been perfect and I’d bet it would have passed.

Ballot text: Shall the following be adopted?
§ 22. Regulation of abortion. Because Kansans value both women and children, the constitution of the state of Kansas does not require government funding of abortion and does not create or secure a right to abortion. To the extent permitted by the constitution of the United States, the people, through their elected state representatives and state senators, may pass laws regarding abortion, including, but not limited to, laws that account for circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or circumstances of necessity to save the life of the mother.
[ ] Yes [ ] No
The Value Them Both Amendment would affirm there is no Kansas constitutional right to
abortion or to require the government funding of abortion, and would reserve to the people of Kansas, through their elected state legislators, the right to pass laws to regulate abortion, including, but not limited to, in circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, or when necessary
to save the life of the mother.

A vote for the Value Them Both Amendment would affirm there is no Kansas constitutional right to abortion or to require the government funding of abortion, and would reserve to the people of Kansas, through their elected state legislators, the right to pass laws to regulate abortion.

A vote against the Value Them Both Amendment would make no changes to the constitution of the state of Kansas, and could restrict the people, through their elected state legislators, from regulating abortion by leaving in place the recently recognized right to abortion.”
