China recruited NHL players four years ago in order to win in the Olympics. Sadly, China’s NHL players got crushed by Americans 8-0. Personally, I would not go play for China for four years or even four minutes. Garbage third world country where Bibles are rejected, girl babies are dumbed into trash cans and innocent people are turned into slaves. China is ice cold in relation to life.

These people are not chinese. Neither nationality or ethincity. China is cheating. They are using a rule that the lefties put in place to allow immigrants to play for the national teams. You have to live in the country for two years and play for the country's national team. So China send truckloads of money to US and Canadian players .... wait for it ... two years ago to play for their ... wait for it ... national team. Boxes checked, now they are in the olympics as the "Chinese" team.

They went with a team of hired guns and got shot down. Boo hoo.

I’m not sure if this is correct. I believe the rule was put in place to allow players who defected from countries behind the Iron Curtain in the 1980s to play for their new home countries. Doesn’t sound like something a “lefty” would do.

The Olympics has been a charade eve since they first allowed professionals to play. There once was a time not too long ago when even a hint of remuneration was enough to disqualify a participant.

I’m gladder than ever that I haven’t watched a second of it.

Today my wife was reading an article about some US gold medal winner from my home state. It seems his little hometown has already put up road signs about him. I asked her if the Olympics were still on and she had no idea. We haven't watched a single second this year and my wife watched only one sport the last time the winter events were held. I completely stopped watching when the IOC allowed professionals to compete.

I know other countries basically had pros but it was always an in-your-face when the USA kids would beat them. Now, it is just an extension of the pros.
