For years an obscure doctor hailing from Australia’s hardscrabble west coast watched in horror as ulcer patients fell so ill that many had their stomach removed or bled until they died. That physician, an internist named Barry Marshall, was tormented because he knew there was a simple treatment for ulcers, which at that time afflicted 10 percent of all adults.
In 1981 Marshall began working with Robin Warren, the Royal Perth Hospital pathologist who, two years earlier, discovered the gut could be overrun by hardy, corkscrew-shaped bacteria called Helicobacter pylori. Biopsying ulcer patients and culturing the organisms in the lab, Marshall traced not just ulcers but also stomach cancer to this gut infection. The cure, he realized, was readily available: antibiotics. But mainstream gastroenterologists were dismissive, holding on to the old idea that ulcers were caused by stress.
Unable to make his case in studies with lab mice (because H. pylori affects only primates) and prohibited from experimenting on people, Marshall... ran an experiment on ...himself. He took some H. pylori from the gut of an ailing patient, stirred it into a broth, and drank it....Back in the lab, he biopsied his own gut, culturing H. pylori and proving unequivocally that bacteria were the underlying cause of ulcers.
Marshall recently sat down with Discover senior editor Pam Weintraub in a Chicago hotel... The man The Star once called “the guinea-pig doctor” can now talk about his work with the humor and passion of an outsider who has been vindicated. For their work on H. pylori, Marshall and Warren shared a 2005 Nobel Prize. Today the standard of care for an ulcer is treatment with an antibiotic. And stomach cancer — once one of the most common forms of malignancy — is almost gone from the Western world.

Follow the science? Meh, follow your gut, occasionally.
I get it, that we can feed the world. But what happened? What went wrong? And with all these restaurants offering Gluten-Free everything, and the explosion of organic farming and goods (which, in some way, has enabled some family farms to remain in business vs cashing out to ADM), people STILL scratch their head, point, sometimes laugh, and opine "it's all in your head."
I never thought that children of the 80s and Reagan, would wind up having more in common with back-to-nature folks (well...they probably dislike my views on abortion and firearms but that's for another day) than the "corporatists" of today.
May God grant all food allergy sufferers a break, and give them a reason for hope, Amen.
...and humanity would be denied a simple cure for a terrible physical malady. But hey, we can’t let independent thought or “misinformation” get in the way of The Narrative.
“But hey, we can’t let independent thought or “misinformation” get in the way of The Narrative.
yep, “misinformation” is the worst ...
I heard somewhere it wasn’t until his (simple/safe) methods worked in veterinary medicine....that they finally tried it on humans.
I don’t know about all cases, but I’ve been dealing with this to one degree or another since birth, in the mid 50’s.
And yes, I sure enough did hear more than enough “it’s all in your head” nonsense.
Funny how an infant all broken out with eczema can be imagining it all.
#29 Use the Pepto-Bismol Caplets Ultra pills. Jut swallow them. No pink teeth or tongue : )

Settles the stomach quickly. Eat Yogurt as well like Yoplait.
I use to have acid ingestation but the pills fixed that where the other products did nothing for me.
For Anemia I would think the doctor would tell you how much iron pills to take. Eat more food with iron.
“The purveyors of Prilosec, etc refuse to acknowledge reality. “
I hate to state it, but that statement is more profound than you may possibly know. Every time I engage a person who admits they take the drug - sometimes OTC/self-diagnosed, but mostly at the behest of an MD - the exchange reinforces my books’ central premise.
This ‘virus crisis’ is merely an extension of my ‘conspiratorial’ claims throughout and, in fact, has proven to be quite evidentiary.
it’s HCL but the L is lower case
Thanks. I used to take it for granted because most of my family had great longevity. I no longer take it that way.
Have you had a good Gastroenterologist do a full scale Upper GI scope on you stomach and got actual pictures of what you are dealing with? If not, I recommend that you do so at once. Anemia is how I found my stomach cancer.
Thank you all for the advice. Last night I did get Pepto
Bismol and my stomach feels better, took more this morning.
My doctor has ordered a scope to look in my stomach.
I am going on a bland diet so I can try and eat something.
I also have antibiotic that I take 3 days a week anyway
I will take it daily for a week now.
try celery juice and aloe to heal the ulcer. then you can start to work on getting your stomach acid to increase where it needs to be
you can’t absorb minerals when your stomach acid is low. osteo is from low MAG not low calcium so stop the antacids, get your stomach acid up and start supplementing with magnesium glycinate
Doc’s got me on magnesium oxide, 1600mg a day. That’s what I was issued at the hospital.
I had my blood work done yesterday and my magnesium assay was in the normal range. I will try doing without the antacid for a while and see how it goes.
Mag oxide does not absorb so you won’t get the true benefit from it. Switch immediately to glycinate and malate. Innovix has a good product. Blood tests for mag are practically worthless as mag stores in your teeth, tissues and bones, not blood. I know a ton about mag so ping me if you’d like to discuss. I also recommend you get on HCL to supplement your stomach acid
You might mention the recently exposed Alzheimer’s plaque mafia while you are on this topic.

Definitely applies to today.
