Many website forums have a feature allowing the poster to edit his/her post after having hit "send". Some only allow edits within "x" minutes of posting, others have no limit. I wonder if FR could have such a feature. I,like some here,am a two fingered typist who makes more than his share of errors (thanks to my old brain cells dying off)...and they're usually discovered not long after having hit "send".
If it's not difficult...or expensive...to set up I hope FR will do it.
And a Like or dislike button...................
All the time in the world to proofread.
Yes...but then there’s the matter of the dying brain cells.
What would be the fun in that?
The curmudgeons would not have one less flaw to get excited about.
:)
More cohesive posts.
Those questions have been asked over the years many times and with no replies.
you can delete posts on the state boards but not the main forum.
WHY?
(and i alzo makes menny tipeing erors)
Nobody’s perfect.
Why do you want to be?
Such a feature would eliminate potential rich history such as “Stuned Beebers”
Do you hit preview and look at what you are fixing to send?
That should help you make any corrections needed. Not 100%
but it helps me a lot.
I posted a thread today about a town in Idaho with a humorous name that was loaded with history and it was pulled by the mod
WHY?
I think only the mods have that function.
Leaving it this way prevents people looking foolish replying to posts that have changed since they replied.
But then, you could always ask the Mods to change or delete your post.
I share your frustration. But there is a problem with allowing editing.
Let’s say I post a comment: “Trump was a good president.”
You respond: “That’s true.”
Oops. I made a mistake. So I edit my original post to read: “Trump was not a good president.”
Now it looks like you think that Trump was no good.
See what I mean?
Using your real name to post is a powerful incentive to proofread carefully before posting. Cheers!
Yup,I do...but that could be addressed by a time limit on edits. Also, the forums I refer to usually have a function where your post,if edited, says “edited”. But your point on “I didn’t say Trump was a bad President” is a valid one.
