The allegations about Cuomo are causing debate among my co-workers. We spend most of our waking hours with our work colleagues. If it’s sexual harassment when one person expresses interest in another then millions of people who have found their mates at work were sexually harassed. Is it harassment simply to express interest in someone? How would you know unless you ask?
Well, if the person expressing interest is the boss, that boss is taking a huge risk. If the other party isn’t interested it’s mighty difficult for the other party to be comfortable in their job, even if the boss is then apologetic. If the other party does feel Cupid’s arrow, I’m happy for them both, but then one has to leave because the boss can’t be dating someone on their staff without creating an uncomfortable environment for everyone. If they both keep it a secret, there’s a big price to pay if they are found out (which almost always happens). But hey, you can’t put a price tag on true love! That situation is not what is being alleged in Cuomo’s case. Nor is it the case of most sexual-harassment claims. They aren’t trivial, “I misread the signals and I’m truly sorry” situations.

If you ask a woman from the office out, you’re toast.
If you treat her exactly as you would a male coworker-you’re toast.
It’s like being under artillery fire. Anywhere you run, including standing still, can get you killed.
I hope so.
Office romances are bad news because when (not if) they go bad they make the office a horror show as each wants to cause problems for the other.
People take sides and the smart, or rather the actually productive people, head for the door with all due speed.
Nothin can kill a productive department faster then a pair of idiots thinking with their gonads.
> If you ask a woman from the office out, you’re toast.

If you try to ignore her, you are toast.
Never, ever get involved with a woman at your workplace.
It will only end in disaster for the man.
The woman is never worth the amount of loss which will inevitably come forth.
Why risk it. If you are male and have a small business just hire other straight men. No problem and no sexual harassment litigation.
I wonder, is this perspective limited to heterosexual unions?
Oh, yeah. That is sure to have a great ending.
Please keep in mind that homosexuals and other similar deviants lead the way when it comes to domestic violence/attacks.
“In the age of sexual harassment claims, is the office romance dead?”
Probably for the younger generation millenial types. Guys are either afraid to try or simply without any natural ihstincts...usually both. Women couldn’t care less and/or were taught to loathe males.
This propaganda article paints Cuomo as merely a romantic and his opponents (and victims) as heartless prudes.
smart men knowmthe answer is yes
Yep.
Not sure about never working again, I had an office romance got in trouble but was not fired and worked at other jobs for the next 25 years.
My brother had an office romance, they got married, have a family and been together 25 years, he became a partner in the same firm about 10 years ago.
Well, you know, that would be discrimination!! [/ lib mode]
It’s gone much further, and worse, than that. Lately in engineering a man can not even have a professional disagreement with a woman, even on a technical matter, without being called a sexist oppressor. Such a disagreement, with the man keeping strictly to facts and refraining from insults or anything remotely appearing as such, is taken as a personal attack. In the current age when “ logic and reason is the perpetuation of white cishetero patriarchy,” I’m glad I’m retired. I would like to work a few more years, but the current minefield Is not worth it.
Liberals want to kill any and all outlets for dating, except Gindr and maybe Tinder (I said maybe)
Office romance. Dead
School/ university romance: Dead
Health club/ gyms etc. romance: Dead
Bars/ clubs: Dead
Not many more places (I *just* know some one will mention “what about church?”)
Don’t have yer honey where you make yer money.
