Anyone who gets involved in an office romance is either insane or doesn't care about ever working again.
The downside is Mariana Trench deep - when the relationship reaches its inevitable end, you're still going to see them every day, and if it ends badly, welcome to termination with cause land, lawsuit land, and even deeper rings of hell.
The upside is...what? Someone who looks good solely in comparison with the petrified lumps you work with and would be a 7 at best anywhere outside of work.

Not sure about never working again, I had an office romance got in trouble but was not fired and worked at other jobs for the next 25 years.
My brother had an office romance, they got married, have a family and been together 25 years, he became a partner in the same firm about 10 years ago.
