..............After drilling into the stalagmites and pulling out cylinders of rock, the team could see an obvious transition between two layers. On one side were old minerals that were part of the original stalagmites; on the other were newer layers that had been laid down after the fragments were broken off by the caves former users. By measuring uranium levels on either side of the divide, the team could accurately tell when each stalagmite had been snapped off for construction.
Their date? 176,500 years ago, give or take a few millennia.

Per wiki...
The Cave of Altamira (Spanish: Cueva de Altamira) is a cave complex, located near the historic town of Santillana del Mar in Cantabria, Spain. It is renowned for prehistoric parietal cave art featuring charcoal drawings and polychrome paintings of contemporary local fauna and human hands. The earliest paintings were applied during the Upper Paleolithic, around 36,000 years ago.

#25. The Cave of Altamira - the site of Picasso’s earliest cubist and abstract art. Worth a fortune!

My first trip to Israel was in 1990 (I landed on the day that Iraq invaded Kuwait - lots of flyovers and sonic booms), and on one particular day I left the Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem. Not 25 feet from the gate was a pit about 8’ x 8’ and maybe 15-20 feet deep, surrounded by a very flimsy fence of mesh. So, of course, I had to peak down there. Coke cans - ancient Coke cans used by my ancestors some 2,000 - 3,000 years ago. Amazing what you find underground, isn’t it!

It sounds like something prisoners of war would wear instead of lederhosen.

Hit your head too many times on stalacties, you will break them off.

I tried like 6 times on preview to make the pic of big hair pop up and failed, even reviewed how to do it with the img src stuff.
Copied and pasted then inserted my url but to no avail.
back to the html sand box for me. It appears that I am not smarter than a fifth grader.
