PLEAS TO END PAIN Gabriel Fernandez pleaded for help 8 times and told teacher he was shot & punched

IS it normal for your mum to hit you with a belt? Is it normal to bleed?"

These are just two of the heartbreaking questions Gabriel Fernandez asked his teacher in the months before he was beaten to death by his own mother and her partner.

The eight-year-old boy was brutally tortured over eight months by Pearl Fernandez and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre - but despite making several brave pleas for help, he was left to die in the evil pair's home.

New Netflix series The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez has now shed light on the harrowing case, with the tragic youngster's family, teacher and witnesses opening up in court on the many times they called authorities to step in - but to no avail.

Gabriel was rushed to hospital with extensive injuries in May 2013 but tragically passed away two days later after being declared brain dead.

He had a major skull fracture, bruising and cuts all over his face, black eyes, BB gun wounds, ligature marks on his ankles, cigarette burns and cat litter in his stomach - after being forced to eat it. In what has been described by US media as an unprecedented move, the four social workers involved were charged with criminal negligence in the case.

The charges were later dropped however because prosecutors did not prove the social workers “had the requisite duty to control the abusers,” and concluded they “did not have care or custody of Gabriel".

All four of them have now reportedly been fired by the LA County Department of Children and Family Services.

I don’t believe in the death penalty, but some stories do make me waver.

The Atlantic actually did a much better job. The documentary left out some key details. The fact that Pearl had 2 other children that were in DCF protection custody was never mentioned. Also a councilor Barbara Dixon also did not report the abuse at the direction of a supervisor was left out of the documentary. Dixon was not charged with a crime because she agreed to testify against her coworkers. Both of these facts made this case much worse and truly showed the utter incompetence of DCF. In fact after watching this documentary I concluded DCF should be disbanded. Calling them is a waste of time or worse a danger to the child.

I have no doubt that the case workers for Child Protective Services knew all about the situation.

But they are just one small part in the overall process to screw over men and fathers and maintain the honor and integrity of mothers. Even evil scumbag mothers.

I also have to wonder how many times different judges gave this woman a “second chance”. How many times a judge ordered counseling and perhaps denied the father his God given rights?

The social workers were fired? Sure. They were easy pawns to throw under the bus.

Having dealt with child protective services (not personally) they seem mainly interested in bothering normal people and ignoring actual abuse.

I watched a small child get beaten (punched with closed fist), then dragged away into a car before I could do anything. Took a picture of the car license plate. Called the cops; called CPS, no action. Took two days to take my statement. Stood in Target parking lot for two hours before leaving bc cops never showed. They got mad because I called back and said I was leaving and threatened me.

Simultaneously, I’ve seen them harass a teacher for disagreeing that there was any sign of abuse for a kid. The teacher only had limited interaction and did not know, one way or the other, what was going on at home. He could say the kid was punctual, clean, prepared, and did well. Had friends. Apparently this was the wrong answer, so they threatened him with prosecution.

Of interest to homeschoolers:

Gee! ....How many times have the government school defenders said that teachers in the schools prevent child abuse?

How many times have we heard from these government school defenders that homeschoolers might be abused in the home?

The father is back in prison and was in prison during the 8 month long abuse.

The social workers falsified reports. The week before he was murdered 2 social workers declared his abuse file was closed. The child had visible cigarette burns and bruises all over his body. The social workers never once asked to see a medical report or have him meet a doctor. One social worker wasn't even filling out reports after her first visit. The second social worker back dated and falsified reports after the child died. Neither social worker ever interviewed the child's teacher.

The social worker not only needs to be fired but locked in jail for a few years.

A three judge panel dropped all charges against the 4 social workers.

I’m not so sure this was incompetence.

This has the feel of maliciousness on the part of the “worker” and the councilors.

I’m wondering now if this little boy wasn’t getting setup to become a marketed item for a pedo nest and the worker and councilors’ office aren’t part of it.

This little boy would be alive if even one person at DCFS did their damn job properly.

the fact they can claim they did the best they should haunt them forever.

And this case isn’t unique. This happens over and over.

They only harass normal people, because we follow the rules. The abnormal and criminal doesn’t and then they would have to do extra work, so that won’t happen.

The social workers would actually have to care first. These people couldn't even be bothered to do 20 minutes of paper work.
