ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA (WTAE/CNN) A Chihuahua was taken to an emergency veterinarian Thursday after drinking spilled vodka in a car with a suspected drunken driver, police say.
Maxwell, the Chihuahua, has a scary story to tell.
A gentleman was intoxicated in a car and I guess had vodka in the car that spilled, and Maxwell got into it and drank some, said Dimitri Brown with University Veterinary Specialists in Peters Township, PA.
The dog was taken to the vet and treated overnight after police found him in a car with Thomas Bloedel, 44, Thursday afternoon. The man was heavily intoxicated, police say.
So, too, was Maxwell.
Evidence of poisoning from the alcohol, he was stumbling around like a person who was drunk. His pupils were dilated, Brown said.

>>Drunk Chihuahua found in car; man arrested<<
As usual, the human gets in trouble and the dog goes scot-free.
This species based bigotry has to END!
I just gave a Birthday card with a Pic of a Chihuahua with his nose in a full wine glass.
Caption says: “Oh great! Now the dog can’t drive”
What, no tequila?
Red neck car alarm.
Just don’t give him a silver hammer.
If getting your chihuahua drunk is wrong I don’t want to be right.
Gilbert Roland did it best in the movies: “Aye Chihuahua!”.
How old was he in dog years?.....................
It’s “Dogs Anonymous” for that pooch!
How drunk was he in dog beers?
My Yorkie loves a couple slurps of Two Hearted Ale.
Bit of a lush actually, but I never give her more that a couple. See it as a bonding experience.
She snuggles up tight and sleeps like a baby.
I hate when my dog gets drunk climbs in my car and get me arrested.
Tequila makes his collar fall off.
My dad’s favorite hen, Gertrude, was my first drinking buddy. She loved beer! She would have a great time too, have a hangover, but be ready to do it again.
Only thing worse than a Chihuahua is a Jack Russell Terrier. Drunk or sober.
LOL!
At least, Jack Russells are cute. Chihuahuas are ugly.
We used to give whiskey to dogs when I was in Nam. They would stumble around for about a minute and then fall asleep. Very boring. No one did it more than once and it didn’t take much whiskey either.
