New evidence suggests that the famous fossilised human ancestor dubbed "Lucy" by scientists died falling from a great height - probably out of a tree. CT scans have shown injuries to her bones similar to those suffered by modern humans in similar falls. The 3.2 million-year-old hominin was found on a treed flood plain, making a branch her most likely final perch. It bolsters the view that her species - Australopithecus afarensis - spent at least some of its life in the trees.

If Lucy fell out of a tree in the forest,
would anybody hear it? How about if she
were in the sky with diamonds?
She got the name because the paleontologists who found her skeleton had a tape of the Beatles' "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and named her for Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
“I can climb that tree just as well as you can, probably better.”
Not good a climbing, fail.....................

Lucy was the ancestor of the modern "identification sect" popular today !
Lucy identified with orangutans and aspired to BE one, so she disobeyed her parents' warning and climbed a tree anyway and guess what?
She fell out of the tree and killed herself.
Maybe she was killed by the other guy who was already in the tree...
Hold muh be{e}r-ries moment?
Charlie Brown pushed her.
I blame Ricky Ricardo.
She identified as a bird. Didn’t work out.
” It bolsters the view that her species - Australopithecus afarensis - spent at least some of its life in the trees.”
I would suggest that the time spent ‘in trees’ was merely a defensive tactic to escape predators. She likely went way out on a limb trying to escape a tiger, and the limb broke.
Maybe she had too many chocolate bon-bons stuffed in her cheeks and lost her balance.
Speculation presented as fact.
This is often misinterpreted as ‘journalism’ in our modern era...
A quote attributed to Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, “ There is no other profession lower in the Eyes of God than that of journalist!”

She was trying to prove Newton’s Law of Gravity.
