This is apparently a graphic used by Microsoft to tout their forthcoming OS upgrade, "Windows 10." It's seems the braintrust in Microsoft's marketing department are a little weak on 20th century history, otherwise they'd have realized the phrase "One product family. One platform. One Store." sounds like is was ripped from the pages of a political propaganda manual.
Yes, the fools in Redmond have -- I give them the benefit of the doubt for now -- unwittingly paraphrased one of the most notorious political catchphrases of all time:
Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer "One People, One Empire, One Leader"
One of the Nazis' most-repeated political slogans was Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer "One People, One Empire, One Leader". Bendersky says the slogan "left an indelible mark on the minds of most Germans who lived through the Nazi years. It appeared on countless posters and in publications; it was heard constantly in radio broadcasts and speeches." The slogan emphasized the absolute control of the party over practically every sector of German society and culture with the churches the most notable exception. Hitler's word was absolute, but he had a narrow range of interest mostly involving diplomacy and the military and so his subordinates interpreted his will to fit their own interests.[9]

It’s remarkable because it only exists in the minds of Apple Fan Bois.
This is likely to create a furor.
That’s reich on target.
I see what you did there :)
What about when they changed their classic formula, then had to bring it back? They've made a bunch of goofy marketing decisions.
ie, What's the difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero?
_____________________
"The main chemical difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke is that Coke Zero has about half the aspartame but has more ace-k.
Confused anyone?
Its a marketing thing Coca Cola have manufactured a diet coke without using the word diet which in their eyes will appeal to a different demographic (specifically men)."
The Chevy “NoVa” ad campaign in Central America was a pretty epic fail.
No va = “no go” in spanish
Please do not think of this as criticism, but it is a C O I K issue; Clear Only If Known.
This may be an issue of passing interest to some few people, once someone tells them about it, but the percentage of people who will understand and appreciate this through free association is miniscule. Good luck with it.
Zero seems sort of flat, Diet has more fizz. As far as flavor, Zero is closer to regular Coke. Didn’t know Zero was directed at men.
PS, my vote on worst marketing move is still New Coke, with Edsel close behind.
I do notsee the connection.
The marketing plan was good, but the car sucked.
The greatest marketing blunder in recent memory is the report that Coca-Cola is running a Queer “family” commercial. Great move, folks! Alienate 90% of your loyal customer base by seeking to woo 2% of the population.
(The guy who OK’d “New Coke” is now off the hook for “The Dumbest Coke Move Ever” award)
But how would anyone know what the difference was when seeing the 2 side by side on the shelf? Now they have a new goofy thing going on with large labeling on their 2L bottles reading "Family" and other such things, as opposed to "Coke", or "Coca Cola".
And check out their horribly designed/stupid website!
I thought that was 'TAB'.
Got a 6 pak of Coke Life the other day. Not bad, but I'm sticking to the Pepsi sugar or Dr Pepper sugar instead of the Coke with half sugar and half stevia.
Aside from whether Coke’s products are good or bad, their marketing over the recent decade or two absolutely sucks.
you have a vivid imagination.....
Or, perhaps, it calls to mind "one Lord, one faith, one baptism," but I wouldn't expect a tech writer to necessarily be literate in the Bible.
Nor would I expect the marketroids at Microsoft to have deliberately evoked the epistle of Paul to the Ephesians, any more than obscure Nazi propaganda.
I've been in the automotive business for many years....the Edsel was as good as any Mercury at the time, because that's basically what it was.
