In a quest that is seen as wacky, way out there and as bitter partisan politics by some, the issue of Obama not showing his birth certificate to prove he is a naturalized American citizen continues. Is this really just some conspiracy theory along the lines of 9/11 truthers and alien cover ups? At first glance it seems like it. But surprisingly many Americans seem to actually believe there is some possibility of truth in this claim that Obama is not a citizen. WND continues to run stories on it but most recently a congressmans town hall meeting became overwhelmed with the issue.
Many people will immediately jump up and say Obama produced a birth certificate, what more do you want? Apparently Obama provided a certificate of live birth (COLB) which is not the same as a long form birth certificate. The long form birth certificate should provide evidence that can be corroborated. The COLB provided on factcheck.org does not show a hospital, doctors name or anything else that can be checked, just a time and city. This COLB can also be obtained by non citizens.
Obama could easily release his long form birth certificate but hasnt. Just to stop people from talking about it and to show that he has the most transparent administration, you think he would.
Many liberals, moderates and even some conservatives will probably read this and just say get over it already. There is a time to let things go and personally I already have. Not because I dont think its important but because I think Obama will never release this information and even if it is true that he is not a natural citizen, that nothing will change. But should people just get over this? If it is true, it is the biggest scam in history. People never got over Bushs decision to go to war with Iraq, should everyone just forget about this issue?
The argument could easily be made that if Obama does not qualify to be president than all of the bills he signed and executive orders he issued would have to be undone. This is very important but would cause huge upheaval. I dont know if the American people would be able to handle this kind of event and the ramifications of the loss in trust of the government. It doesnt mean the truth shouldnt be fully investigated though but I sincerely doubt it ever will be
Perhaps, but it is no less fantasy than the absurd notion that she flew to Kenya to give birth.
At any rate, you asked for a plausible story that fits the facts, and that's what I gave you. I obviously don't know the exact reason why she took her son to Seattle after he was born. No one but her knows that.
Where do you pull this "fact" that her parents disapproved of her marriage?
It's been reported that her parents were, at the very least, not positive about the marriage. For example, here:
"About that same time, another letter crossed the Pacific, this one heading to Africa. It was from Barack Obama Sr. to his mother, Sarah Hussein Onyango Obama. Though the letter didn't go into great detail, it said he had met a young woman named Ann (not Stanley). There wasn't much on how they met or what the attraction was, but he announced their plans to wed. The Dunhams weren't happy."
From here:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/obama/chi-0703270151mar27-archive,0,5853572,full.story
Her parents were far left-wingers, there is no evidence they disapproved of mixed-race relationships.
No, but they probably didn't like it that their 18 year old daughter married a man she had just barely met. You don't have to be a conservative to realize that it might be a bad idea.
And if she and her parents had ruptured their relationship over her mixed marriage, where did she get the money to live in Seattle? Your theories are nonsense.
It would have been a lot easier for her to come up with the money for a plane ticket to Seattle than to Kenya.
As to how she could afford live in Seattle, ever heard of a part time job? Reports indicate she was attending evening classes at the UW.
Her friend's comment does not support the idea that Obama Sr. would change his mind about going back to Africa to marry a black woman - exactly the OPPOSITE - it supports the idea that Ann had no problem with Obama Sr. marrying a black wife, which actually is consistent with a radical leftist open sex mindset.
About the only thing her friend's comments suggest is that Ann was a very confused and naive girl who didn't know what she was doing.
You seem to know very little about the facts and then offer absurd speculations based on nothing but your own imagination.
That's a really good description of the birther fantasy of a Kenyan birth.
You said — Of course not it was not adjudicated and no amendment made, it is not a living document, it means what it says.

LOL... exactly my sentiments.... [you need to look at these posts a bit closer...]
“... that allowing him to finish his term without being challenegd by the courts on the eligibility requirement in the Constitution, Barry will have changed the Constitution by default of openly being allowed to avoid the Constitutional requirements.”
Please pass on that “troll” designation to the poster in #152, if you would....
Aren’t you an attorney? Did you have to list all your former names, if you had any, on your application to the State Bar?
Does the IARDC Full Former Name section only apply to names used as an attorney?
No. She said that she was present when Obama was born in Kenya (period).
Yeah we know you want anchor babies to be defined as natural born citizens so your obamessiah can be left to do his filthy destruction. [Are you an illegal alien, btw?] But the SCOTUS cases Elg, Venus, and Wang Kim Ark pop your little deceit quite adequately. You want to deceive by claiming only two forms of citizenship exist according to wording int ht e Constitution, and ignore the SCOTUS cases which address at least three ways a person can be defined as a citizen (one of which is the highest stricture, natural born citizen).
See post #175..., I think he was calling you a troll.... LOL...
Nope. That's not at all what she said. Listen to the tape. And I mean the whole tape, not the one that cuts off half way through her interview with "Bishop" McRae.
You make a very good point. Of the 12 Presidents after WW2, Obama ranks 10th when comparing approval ratings after 6 months. He is even below Carter. It may indeed be the beginning of the end of Obama’s time in office.
You wrote-
“I think it will catch up to him too. Im one whos glad its taking a while, though. I know Obama is doing damage, and I dont minimize that. Otoh, if the birth certificate issue had reached critical mass too soon, people would have shrugged it off, imhoeven if it turned out he was born in Kenya. If it hits the fan after his approval has gone low enough and people are sufficiently fed up about the economy and his nationalized healthcare boondoggle, it could have much greater and lasting results.”
You said — I think that is a reasonable request.
—
Well, I think it’s a reasonable request and McCain showed that he would and did respond to such requests, and volunteered his own birth certificate.
I would have thought that there would be a lot more pressure for this to be done before the election, as it could affect votes. But, apparently Obama didn’t think so.
As a result, I see a lot less pressure now, politically speaking, for Obama to respond to such a reasonable request. So, I don’t expect to see it from him, until we have some state laws in place which *demand it* — or he can’t be on the ballot.
That is what I see as the last option open at this time.
Can you cite a single instance in his entire adult life where he's gone by Soetero?
The Constitution beat me to it.
But the SCOTUS cases Elg, Venus, and Wang Kim Ark pop your little deceit quite adequately.
No, actually, they don't. And I've read them both.
You want to deceive by claiming only two forms of citizenship exist according to wording int ht e Constitution, and ignore the SCOTUS cases which address at least three ways a person can be defined as a citizen (one of which is the highest stricture, natural born citizen).
We must be thinking of different Ark and Elg cases. Can you quote the parts you're referring to?
Whatever, I just get a kick out of outing you as a liar ... see post #101 above.
That doesn’t seem to be a true statement.
The audio I just listened to clearly (very clearly) claims the exact opposite. That he was born in Hawaii while his grandmother was in Kenya.
Though this audio transcript could certainly be very easily parsed to give an opposite, and false, impression.
It opens for me just fine. I'm not your IT support.
pingalingaling ... you might get a kick out of post #101 above.
Several people have seen COLBs up close and personal. Check out their findings:

Politics. Having produced what he says is his COLB, Obama believes his proved his citizenship. He won't respond to any further demands for documentation because no other presidential candidate was forced to do so. To do something that no other presidential candidate was forced to do would be an admission that his COLB wasn't sufficient.
Give me a reason that would supersede the U. S. Constitution.
Show me where in the Constitution it says that a candidate must prove his citizenship and who he must prove it to.
Yeah, why is Obama spending so much in legal fees to keep his birth certificate and other documents hidden? He could be covering up much more. I know that it is a felony to forge a government document (i.e. his COLB). This all needs to be subpoenaed to court.
