You said — I think that is a reasonable request.

Well, I think it’s a reasonable request and McCain showed that he would and did respond to such requests, and volunteered his own birth certificate.
I would have thought that there would be a lot more pressure for this to be done before the election, as it could affect votes. But, apparently Obama didn’t think so.
As a result, I see a lot less pressure now, politically speaking, for Obama to respond to such a reasonable request. So, I don’t expect to see it from him, until we have some state laws in place which *demand it* — or he can’t be on the ballot.
That is what I see as the last option open at this time.
Aye, I hear what you’re saying. There’s another thread going entitled ‘Get Out of War Free Card’.

It’s another WND article pursuing this issue. But it concerns the military angle. If a few more officers publically refuse his orders because of the birth certificate it will become an issue he won’t be able to ignore.
You mentioned earlier that you prefer to think long-range and strategically. Ok. So, let’s say in the next couple of weeks/months this scenario plays out, we have officers refusing to deploy, Rush Limbaugh has everyone stirred up, there are billboards everywhere about the birth certificate. Obama finally relents and produces his birth certificate and it is legitimate.
What then for the political Right? I’m just curious how you see this playing out for us. I see Obama as a one-term president but something like this could maybe change public perception of him. If he is perceived to be unduly persecuted by the Right it might get him enough sympathy in the long run to get him elected again. That’s a scary thought to me. I’d like to see him out of office now before it’s too late but if it can’t be now then at least in 2012. I wouldn’t want to see him re-elected. That would be catastrophic. At the moment he is sinking his own ship. I wouldn’t to do anything to help him out.
But I would like this thing with the birth certificate answered.

McCain has never publicly displayed his BC. WaPo reporter Michael Dobbs says a McCain aide showed him the BC, which stated he was born at the naval base hospital at Coco Solo, Canal Zone.
