WARNING LETTER
CERTIFIED MAIL RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED
Mr. Robert F. Pasin President and CEO Radio Flyer, Inc. 6515 W. Grand Ave. Chicago, IL 60707
Dear Mr. Pasin:
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has reviewed the markings of your Radio Flyer Classic Wagon and your Radio Flyer Retro Rocket Ride-On. FAAs review found serious violations of the Federal Aviation Act and of the International Civil Aviation Organisations resolutions 900.564.0004.1 (b) and 900.782.00230.1 (s). You can find copies of the Act and the FAAs website, http://www.faa.gov. The ICAOs resolutions may be found at http://www.icao.int.
UNAUTHORIZED AIRCRAFT
Based on claims made on your vehicles markings, we have determined that your Radio Flyer Classic Wagons and your Radio Flyer Retro Rocket Ride-Ons are promoted for conditions that cause it to be AIRCRAFT because the vehicles are intended to manipulate the imagination of THE CHILDREN, insinuating that they are capable of FLIGHT.
Your Radio Flyer vehicles are mis-marked within the meaning of FAR Part 119 because it bears unauthorized claims of capabilities of FLIGHT, therefore posing an immediate threat of irreparable injury to the MINDS OF THE CHILDREN.
This letter is not intended to be an all-inclusive review of your vehicles and their markings. It is your responsibility to ensure that all your products are in compliance with the Act and its implementing regulations.
Failure to promptly correct the violations specified above may result in enforcement action without further notice. Enforcement action may include seizure of violative aircraft and/or injunction against the manufacture and distributors of violative aircraft.
Please advise this office in writing 15 days from your receipt of this letter of the specific steps you have taken to correct the violations noted above and to ensure that similar violations do not occur. Your response should include any documentation necessary to show that correction has been achieved.
Please send your reply to the attention of Tyrone S. Wisecrack, Compliance Commissar, Federal Aviation Administration, US Department of Transportation, 800 Independence Ave., Washington, DC 20591.
Sincerely,
/s/
Edward Wojohowitz Director Potentate FAA Illinois District
You call this "truth"?
This is remarkably similar to the Cheerios letter.
It is fiction...
Oh no..., I can see a whole slew of fake stories coming out now... since everybody wants to be a science fiction writer now... LOL...
Maybe because this is fiction? Nothing on the link supplied re this.
No, this letter doesn’t contain nearly as much Federal law citations. It is however very well done (crafted)
Hey, they made the F-4 Phantom fly, didn’t they?
It is a joke for crisakes.
Next thing we know they will go after Cheerios, oh wait.....
Was that one BS also?
Add Flexible Flyer to this list, as when I was on my daughter’s with her when she was little, I found it not to be “flexible” at all. In fact I had a Black and Blue on my ass for a week.
I am so sick of these federal agencies trying to take over even toy companies.
I’m of the opinion that the F4 is proof that if you put a big enough engine on anything (even a brick) ... it can fly.
I wonder if there is a letter on the way to Radio Flyer threatening to pull their broadcast licenses unless they provide proof of minority ownership?
I didn’t know that Radio Flyers could fly. No idea how I missed that when I was a kid. What a waste.
