You know that’s an interesting statement re: a Chemical Imbalance.
To tell you the truth - I’ve yet to meet any lesbians who I’ve been good enough friends with to discuss these issues that were NOT abused by their fathers. I’m not saying they aren’t out there — just that I’ve NEVER met or become friends with any lesbians who were NOT also survivors of childhood sexual abuse... Of course, you’ll never hear any of the gay activists touch on this issue, or even study it. That would completely get in the way of the “genetics” argument, and their belief that it’s nature and not NURTURE that affects people’s sexuality in this way...
Just my $.02 on the subject. I’ve nothing against gays who do not push their lifestyle on others and ask for SPECIAL treatment vs. heterosexuals. It’s their life, and they have the right to behave however they want as long as it doesn’t affect others’ rights, and as long as they don’t expect SPECIAL rights not afforded to others (I’m thinking of the “Hate Crime” type bills here - a life is a life, and no-one’s life and health is worth “MORE” than another’s just because they happen to be gay, Jewish, black, etc...).

Finding an excuse is what it’s about ... God doesn’t play games, so what He says is directive. HE SAYS CLEARLY that homosexuality is an abomination to Him. ‘nough said.

I ft I ever get the chance to taslk to clay about this, he will get an ear full. Pray that God will reach in anhd cease him by the heart, to work His will. Clay is still one of His, if Aikens inclines himself to His Love.
Clay Aiken should not be a “father” to this child. It is irresponsible to put a child in this situation.
For those who think Aiken is doing nothing wrong here, Aiken is doing what others have done and that is to attempt to mainstream a behavioral disorder that should not be accepted as a positive.
All this does is feed into the lie that people are born this way or cannot help themselves. It’s bull and it’s all political.
No offense taken at all. I happen to agree with you as evidenced by the observations I’ve made myself. Due to long-term depression and such encountered by survivors of Child Sexual Abuse it very well could be a definite chemical imbalance. I just don’t think they’re born that way is all. More like it’s a coping mechanism that becomes “hardwired” into their brains over a long period of time... It could also be a sub-conscious coping mechanism (at least in the case of lesbians). It’s very hard to deal with flashbacks and such as a grown woman in an intimate relationship with a man... Therefore, I truly believe that some of these woman seek out other woman in order to avoid some of those problems... Again, a problem that is NOT being dealt with, that could very well be termed as a “side-effect” of abuse. At least in the cases of the lesbians I have known well enough to see these things in.

I would like to echo that sentiment. In my discussion on this topic I would like to make it known that I DON’T approve of the behavior, either. Not as a Christian whose Lord has made it abundantly clear that this is NOT normal behavior.
I do wish to examine the WHYs though. Whether it be a chemical imbalance, or a side-effect of abuse as a child - if it’s something people can start to understand, then it’s something that we could HELP others with... I would imagine they would be immensely happier in their lives if they actually dealt with the problems in their lives instead of creating more problems for themselves, socially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
It’s the same with those who have another mental illness. You can’t just give them all a pill and make it go away... They need counseling, and they need to understand how their actions relate to their past is all... And, I think that’s what is going on - as I said before - at least with all the lesbians I’ve even known well enough to broach the subject with.
We all have a cross to bear. I still “feel” like stealing something I want but can not afford. I “feel” like lying or cheating with my neighbor. We are born this way. With a sinful nature. And that nature must be given to Jesus every single day. It IS a struggle sometimes. But, as Jesus told us, “resist the devil and he will flee”....trouble is, some people don't want to resist! They want to hold tight to their favorite sin, and it eats them up. They “think” that giving in to that sin will set them free...but, like Adam and Eve, they soon find out that greater bondage, and misery actually await them.

I don't like this, gay men artificially inseminating their 50 year old female friends. Poor kid, but once the kid was old enough he'd have read the rumors online anyway. His schoolmates would have also known anyway and teased him anyway, presuming that anyone remembers Clay Aiken in 5-10 years.
He lost American Idol one year, oddly he has done much better than any of the winners.
