Good afternoon, A-G.
As usual, I got busy playing with background html coding. I'm just now getting around to checking my pings.
Hope you've enjoyed Flag Day.

To: JustAmy
This seems appropriate for Flag Day!

The Flag
The child just thinks its pretty, he hasnt tied his heart,
The dog contented by his side, and glad hes taking part.
The elders watch and smile at this, and at their memories,
While overhead, for every eye, Old Glorys in the breeze.
The ones who served, and stood beside, the effort way back then,
Are proud to stand once more, with tears, to honor flag and men.
The flag has covered us so long, we see it every day,
It takes a special moment to remind us all to pray.
Dear God, observe us standing here, and see what we hold dear,
And grant us Peace, and love for You, for all our families here.
And for the men who stand elsewhere, give them the knowledge of,
The pride we have, that they would choose, this way to show their love.

Thought you might enjoy this tidbit:
Our man Cheney
We at Power Line are huge admirers of Vice President Cheney. Unfortunately, I was stuck at work last night and didn't get to see Sean Hannity's interview of the Vice President, which I understand Fox ran against the wall-to-wall coverage of Michael Jackson's acquittal. But I did catch most of C-SPAN's broadcast of Cheney's performance at the National Press Club. Cheney did a terrific job of explaining why we need to continue holding prisoners at Gitmo and of defending our treatment of the unlawful combatants there. Those who think we're going to close Gitmo probably thought that the administration was going to dump Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld last year. This administration isn't cowed by liberal and MSM hysteria. That's one of the reasons we admire it.
But my favorite moment of the evening occurred when someone asked Cheney how the White House defines excellence in journalism. The Vice President's answer: "I'll know it when I see it."

I need a Welcome Graphic to go with this poem.
Since I do not have it saved with a graphic, I forget about it. Today would have been the perfect day to use it.
Darn. I need to get organized.
Thank you for posting your very fine Flag poem, Bob.

Thanks Amy glad you liked it.
How was your day? I'm still working on tomorrow's class.
To: Victoria Delsoul
Do you really want to know about my day? LOL
I think I have a new ulcer!!! The trials and tribulations of raising a 5 year old. :)
She has been begging to ride the school bus. This morning, I was told to meet the bus at about 12:20 about 1/4 mile from our house. I told her to get off there with another little girl in her class and that I would be there.
Hubby told me the bus came by yesterday at 11:45. hmmmmmm
At 11:30, I took the car keys and sat in the front yard. When we saw a bus coming about 11:45, I jumped up and started for the car. The bus stopped right at our driveway. Wheww.
The driver told me that they gave her another stop because the original bus stop was too far for a 5 year old to walk. At least I will know what to expect the next time.
Marissa? ...... she was happy as she could be. Afterall, she is almost 6 and if I were to ride the bus with her, I don't need to sit by her. She wants me to sit with another child. :)
Sounds exciting, doesn't it? :~)

Sounds exciting, doesn't it? :~) OMG! That's tough. I mean, it's exciting for her, but you're right about having a new ulcer, lol.
To: Alberta's Child
Hi AC, let's enjoy it while it last. :-)
To: Victoria Delsoul
I was out playing roller hockey in the 90+ heat last Saturday -- not the smartest thing I've ever done. LOL.
