I guess we could chain him but he would be so unhappy. Our dogs have always had plenty of room to run. They can leave the yard and go into the orchard to hunt gophers or whatever. That gives them more than an acre of open space.

We will check out our options tomorrow. Hubby may go to the blacksmith to see what is involved with adding onto the fence. Louie/Max has not been able to get over the 5 foot chain link fence that surrounds the orchard but when we built the house we only put a four foot fence in the back yard. Seemed fine at the time.
