Well, I know that my dictionary does not have Perky Katie's picture listed by the word superstar. Maybe others have a different dictionary.

And from all I hear, he was a great person, too ... a true role model for his teammates, young people, and everyone else.

He was the plucky underdog we all root for. A 5'9" LB who just never quit. He and Ricky Jackson ran that Dome Patrol, and were the heart and spirit of the Saints' defense. I was very upset when the Saints decided he was washed up and let Carolina grab him, because his feistiness was infectious, and New Orleans went into the doldrums for about 4 years after he left, including the dreadful Mike Ditka period.

He was certainly the spark of the fledgling Panthers ... and remained an inspiration to them on and on. He seemed to have a built-in radar for knowing where the ball was. But his character was what really stood out.

So far as I know, the only retired numbers for the Saints are Jim Smith, Archie Manning, and Ricky Jackson. They need to add Sam Mills to the list, he's earned it.

Evening. I've been chatting away merrily on the other thread. LOL.
It snowed here today. It's supposed to snow Wednesday and Thursday too. Yuk.

It went to 82 here today ... and was just 37 night before last. A strange spring time everywhere, it seems.
New windows are on my wish list, too, but that will be several years off. We want to do the kitchen first ... and we fear that our 20 year-old heat/AC system will go any day. That will definitely take priority over anything else ... even the kitchen!
We put off too many things for too long ... first trying to get out of the considerable hole that starting our own business put us in and then helping out daughter-child as she went through a very expensive and nasty divorce and was a struggling single mom with two toddlers. We are finally getting to where we have a few pennies to spend on the house but we'll have to spread the expenditures out.

We have started at work to make ornaments for a Christmas tree. There is a Festival of Trees every year, which raises money for Primary Children's Hospital. We are making beaded ornaments for a tree this year, 200 beaded ornaments. We had a great response, 31 people signed up to help make the ornaments. We've had 27 turned in since last Tuesday. I made one like the picture below.
I also want to make the kitty ornament for me. And my theme for Christmas is the Nativity, and I want to make at least one this year.
I can't believe I am starting new projects. I have a couple of others started (one for my parents 50th wedding anniversary in Jan 2006.)
Now that I've wasted enought bandwidth, I'm off to bed. Night one and all.
