A New Week....Well, almost....

Will the Wall Street jitters continue??

Will, FINALLY, steps be taken to end the judicial log jam in the Senate??

Will the Dems, under Dr. Dean, begin to control their wacko elements??

Just a few questions to ponder....

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Tomorrow, is Patriots Day. Remember to fly your flag. It commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord (the Shot Heard Round the World). And for those who forgot their American History and Civics, the cause was the Massachusetts governor's attempt to disarm the citizens of Boston.

Quotes of the day:

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." --Thomas Jefferson

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom." --John F. Kennedy

"You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. If nothing is worth dying for, when did this begin...? Should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots of Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn't die in vain!" --Ronald Reagan

Hi All! I wasn't able to check in this morning due to work requirements. Those were due to Da Kid's accident yesterday. After we got back from the Spring Camporee, he was invited over to a neighbor's to play. Another kid showed up and Jack came home with a broken arm! It seems that Jack was on the ground and the other two were up a tree, doing stupid things when the other visitor slipped and fell. He went head first, but his foot caught in a crotch of the the tree limb and it left him about 8 feet off the ground, ready to be a lawn dart. The neighbor kid wouldn't or couldn't do anything, so our Boy Scout immediately climbed up and pulled the kid from the his prediciment. The kid then jumped to the ground, but in the process pushed Jack. The limb Jack was on broke and he fell about 8 feet to the ground, slightly fracturing his left arm just above the wrist and getting his bell rung too.

The kid that Jack helped proceeded to laugh at him as he sat stuned on the ground...and then stepped on his right hand, "by accident". The neighbor kid took Jack into the kichen, gave him a couple of ice cubes, and never told his folks. I happened to call just then and asked the kid to send Jack home. He did...he made Jack walk about 200 yards, stunned and with a cracked arm! Man am I pissed!

I took him into the ER and met the Duchess there. She infused him, they x-rayed his arm and he was really suffering. He is still hurting.

I just about had British politics figured out, and now I am struggling with the Italians. If his current coalition government is struggling, how will dissolving it and forming a new one help? Where will they get new allies?

I am quite confused.

Installation on furnace and AC continues (they have been here since 8:30). They are moving the AC unit tot he north side of the house, away from the patio. They had to take the old furnace out and add some ductwork. They have not taken a lunch break. I hope they get done before dark...this is a big job.

Perhaps they've made new allegiances within their own ranks? And that the old government coalitions must be dissolved before new ones can be put in place? I honestly don't know either.

Duke, sorry to hear about Jack's broken arm but glad he's going to be OK. Poor kid, that must be hurting.

I loved it when we got our new furnace and air conditioner. Much more efficient (other was several years old) more effective at heating and cooling and lots quieter.

Tomorrow I have to have my clothes dryer looked at as it's going BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG when I turn it on and sounds so bad I'm afraid to run it.

Getting anything out of my memory banks at my age is like getting blood from a turnip.
