Good evening, Meekie. Our hi temp reached 79 today. I enjoyed the warm weather after the few days of cool, windy weather last week.
Hope you enjoyed
Nosy Neighbor Day? Did you invite them over for BBQ chicken?
Have a wonderful week.

Good evening, DD. Hope you enjoyed a relaxing Sunday with Family and Friends.
We had a beautiful day; light breezes this morning and late this afternoon but a high of 79 degrees. We did some yard work and enjoyed the day.

Hope you had an enjoyable Cheeseball Day!

Stilton and Walnut Ball
Makes 12 to 16 appetizer servings.
Can be prepared up to five days ahead.
Ingredients:
8 ounces Stilton, or other blue cheese, rind removed, at room temperature
8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons tawny port
1/4 teaspoon freshly milled black pepper
1 cup walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped
Water crackers, for serving
Cored, sliced, ripe Bosc pears, toss with lemon juice to discourage browning for serving
Method:
In a medium bowl, using a rubber spatula, mash the Stilton and cream cheese until smooth. Work in the port and pepper. Place a piece of plastic wrap on the work surface, and scrape the cheese mixture into the center of the wrap.
Use the plastic wrap to form the cheese mixture into a ball (it will be soft). Refrigerate until the ball is chilled and firm, at least four hours or overnight.
To serve, unwrap the ball and roll it in the chopped nuts.
Transfer to a platter and serve with the crackers and pears.
I hope you enjoyed Cheeseball Day with family and FRiends.

Happy Sunday. It was a beautiful day in the SJ Valley. We had morning and evening breezes but the temps were warm and pleasant.
It was nice enough to get outside for a little yard work and sunshine.

Hope you had a great Nosy Neighbor Day!
Were you the nosy neighbor or the neighboree?

No Stress Today!
A Warm and Sunny Sunday
Made for doing nothing
Both In and Out of Doors.
Setting strategies for the yard.
In the months ahead
Following my Shadow from the Sun.
Then off to get my fix
Of Frank Miller Noir and Dread
At My Favorite Comic Book Store!
In a Chaise Lounge catching Rays.
With Miller's "A Dame To Kill For." Figuring the Ground Ivy will spread
Another half inch closer to
The house before May Time.
Scheduling days to cut the grass
And chop back branches growing en mass.
Plus cutting back everyone's
Favorite, Strangling Vines!
Having a Solid Day of Fun.
As hours of sweaty work,
Cuts and Muscles Sore draw closer,
Evermore!

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to enjoy a cheeseball today. But now I have a big craving for a cheeseball and some crackers. LOL!

Nutty Bacon Cheeseball
Makes about 24 servings
Ingredients 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup milk
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup (1 ounce) crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup finely minced green onions (white parts only)
1 jar (2 ounces) diced pimiento, drained
10 slices bacon, cooked, drained, finely crumbled and divided
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans, divided
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Method:
Beat cream cheese and milk in large bowl at low speed of electric mixer until blended. Add cheeses. Beat at medium speed until well mixed. Add green onions, pimiento, half of bacon and half of pecans. Beat at medium speed until well mixed. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer half of mixture to large piece of plastic wrap. Shape into ball; wrap tightly. Repeat with remaining mixture. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or until chilled.
Combine remaining bacon and pecans with parsley and poppy seeds in pie plate or large dinner plate. Remove plastic wrap from each ball; roll each in bacon mixture until well coated. Wrap each ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve, up to 24 hours.
Happy Cheeseball Day!

I'll pass on Cheese Ball Day.
Seeing one long ago.
At the Bar & Lounge at O'Hare
Airport during December's snow.
The Bar being right beside the Gate
Bade me enter. I'd have time.
For a beer or two and not be late.
Sliced open to Mid-Point
Surrounded by mixed drink all the rage.
The nuts outside a sheen of beige.
While the cheese, an odd shade of orange
That seemed to eerily glow and radiate.
