Me, for one. Zot! How many pro-life Schiavo supporters are in favor of the war?
Posted on 03/24/2005 10:18:36 PM PST by popop
I hear so many of you talk about the sanctity of Schiavo's innocent life... why, then, can you support the war in Iraq which has taken thousands of lives, many innocent?

We regret the loss of innocent lives in Iraq. However, we believe that, in the long run, our actions in Iraq:
- Will save more innocent Iraqi lives than those that have been lost
- Will save more innocent lives in other nations in the region, like Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia...
- And most importantly, will save more innocent lives in the United States.
Here's a question for you:
Knowing what you know now, would you have approved of an invasion of Germany in 1936, even if it would have resulted in the death of 1 million innocent Germans?
Your answer should be "Yes". However, history can only be lived forwards, and not backwards. We believe that we are at a similar juncture in history. We see two futures:
A) A future with thousands of dead innocent people
B) A future with millions of dead innocent people
We're going with option 'A'.

If you can get the soldiers/terrorists to wear an identifying uniform like all the other soldier do, and if you can get the evil terrorists to stop hiding among women, children and in mosks, it would be less of an issue.
Terrorist who worship that moon god love to use the population as human shields.
Granted lots of this bloodshed could have been prevented if the male population rose up and kicked some ass, but like Mexico, they seem too gutless to change anything, so they suffer more losses then they could have suffered IMO.
War has NEVER been perfect, but it works just about every time. The winner gets to dictate terms of surrender.

How can you support the continuation of a regime where murder, rape and terrorism were the norm?
The Iraqi people are better off now than they have been for decades.
As for your Dem buddies wanting to kill everyone who moves, they are beneath contempt.

WW II took millions of lives, civilians as well as armed combatants. And we weren't so nearly so careful about avoiding civilian deaths as we are now. In fact by the middle of the war we started targeting civilians. Now the oppositie reaction of fighting against Japan and the Nazis, to avoid more war deaths, would have been to surrender. Which should we have done? Surrender or fight back?

Can you explain why Schiavo's life is worth more than those killed in the war? I am not trolling, just interested.
Who exactly said it was?
If you can't figure out why millions of supressed people are just as important as one individual perhaps you are in the wrong country, idiot!
