Sometimes I think my head is a radio.
I honestly don't know where many of these words come from.
I have a vague idea of what I want to express, but the twists of phrase, and the strange word-plays, just come to me from the air.

DAY AND NIGHT
Some humans think cats have no "occupation".
The complete realization of graceful relaxation.
Enjoying the shade from flora and fauna.
With sporadic Meows that translate into "I wanna!"
When it gets cold or suddenly starts to rain.
I've tried time and again to explain.
That when humans sleep through the night.
Is the time that cats take flight
And do the things that we love to do.
Chase moonbeams around the block.
Talk to friends through windows locked.
Slither through and under fences
Up trees and trellises without a sound.
Sharing leaps and whispered bounds.
Making safe and serene the grounds
That holds the house where humans sleep.
While we bolt and dash and creep.
To lay our trophies for all to see.
While our paws we lick so delicately.
As the sky lightens and rises high away.
So, it is shade and physical cessation
Though humans think it's just a Goof Off Day.

Our Mysterious God
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past . . . , has in these last days spoken to us by His Son. -Hebrews 1:1-2
|
In today's Scripture, we read that a mysterious and awesome visitor appeared to Manoah and his wife (Samson's parents). When Manoah asked, "What is Your name?" the visitor didn't answer the question directly but instead "ascended in the flame of the altar" (Judges 13:17-20). Then Manoah knew he had seen God in human form.
Who can understand such a God-the God who wrote the 3-billion-letter software code in the DNA molecule of every human cell? Who can fully comprehend the God who knows everything, even our inner thoughts? Yet many Old Testament saints knew and loved this God. They experienced the joy of His grace and forgiveness, even though they didn't completely understand how a holy God could forgive their sins. As Christians, we too stand in awe before the majesty and mystery of an incomprehensible God. But we have a great advantage because we see Him revealed in Jesus, who said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). And when Jesus hung on the cross, He revealed God's compassion and love, for He died there for us. A mystery? Yes. But how wonderful that we can know the love of this incomprehensible God! -Herb Vander Lugt
Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious-Thy great name we praise. -Smith
To understand God is impossible-to worship Him is imperative.

Life is a roller coaster. You can either scream every time you hit a bump
or you can throw your hands up in the air and enjoy it. -- Anon.

LOL... I really like your list of the sex of non-living things.
I have a bit of an issue with your #3:
3) Tire - Male, because it goes bald and it's often over-inflated.
I seem to find that tires are more often UNDER-inflated. Does that change anything?

Agreed! LOL! Time to climb back on the roller coaster again, and don't get off in Ossining -- especially if you sing like a canary.

Real friendship
To: All
the mockingbird
the mockingbird had been following the cat
all summer
mocking mocking mocking
teasing and cocksure;
the cat crawled under rockers on porches
tail flashing
and said something angry to the mockingbird
which I didn't understand.
yesterday the cat walked calmly up the driveway
with the mockingbird alive in its mouth,
wings fanned, beautiful wings fanned and flopping,
feathers parted like a woman's legs,
and the bird was no longer mocking,
it was asking, it was praying
but the cat
striding down through centuries
would not listen.
I saw it crawl under a yellow car
with the bird
to bargain it to another place.
summer was over.
