Hope to see you Thursday too! Hey tulip, let's have our own ball here! I'm gonna see if I can find a dress. Be back in a while...(I'll probably look like Cindy Crawford when I come back.)

A Change Of Perspective
In the shade of the sheltering pines
I whiled many an hour away,
dreaming of city lights
and skyscrapers,
places I only knew about
from reading frayed old books
borrowed from a small rural school library.
How I longed to flag a fast train
and be whizzed away
from the seclusion
of my father's one-horse farm,
to find my place
in crowded streets far removed
from the humdrum sameness
of my childhood existence.
After forty years of sweat and toil
among the clang and clamor
of my uptown life,
my soul now yearns
for whispering pines,
where the occasional caw
of a crow
is the only raucous sound.

I only found 2 pictures of Cindy in a red dress (most of her pictures were of her face, no clothes, or a bikini)...

Cindy Crawford came out of retirement to model this dress at Esteban Cortazar's 2003 New York Fall Fashion Week show.

(The website showing this dress was in Chinese.)
I might look for some more ball dresses after lunch, but I have work so I'm not so sure about that. : )

Just got off the cell with Mama_Bear . . . They are back at the hotel. Very tired and disappointed that they got within 5 feet of the gate. If they had been 20 minute earlier they would have made it in. They could hear GWB on the loud speakers. Too many people to even get to the Mall, couldn't even get in from of the capitol to get a front shot of the bunting. I am recording 6 hours of coverage so she can see it when she gets home.
The fun will be the ball tonight even though she said they are tired right now.

I know they must have been so disappointed to have been shut out! But I know they will just go get ready for the real fun tonight~the FReeper Ball! I hope there will be a live thread there tonight--so we can all get a taste of what is happening! Only,
we can be in our jammies!

Yikes! They didn't get in? I spent all morning looking for them in the vast crowd! I am so sorry they didn't make it. I thought you were going? I wanted to, but just too chicken to get on the plane! Tell them how jealous I am when you talk to Mama again! Oh, and to have lots of fun too!

I knew you would understand if I posted that Sunday graphic again today. It seemed appropriate.
We almost made it to the inauguration. We were five feet away when they closed the gates. We had waited in line for 2 1/2 hours.
What a bummer!
