Thank you :) The first one was more of a close up with the little boy.
When my brother was a recruiting officer in Los Angeles, he was continually getting offers from modeling agencies. I think he only did one photo shoot (for a gun magazine) but he could easily have made a mint. He just didn't really have the time or inclination to do that on the side; he worked round the clock with the Marines.
Your brother is doing important work. He is a hero!!!
LOL
Thanks, Victoria. :)
It's that time of year again ..... basketball season. It will be Marissa's first basketball game. She had better like it!!! I missed several football games but I would really hate to miss the basketball.
I may be back later, but if not, I'll see you tomorrow.
Hope your day was wonderful.
Basketball oh no!!! LOL! Have fun, see you later.
Both pictures of your brother opened right up for me, though I've had problems with other pictures in the past.
Your brother has a great smile, reciprocated by the Iraqi boy. Eventually, he should win the confidence of the older set as well.
Have you seen the film "Voices of Iraq"? It presented the optimism and pessimism of Iraqis fro April-September 2004 in a fair and balanced presentation that juxtaposed the negative headlines of US newspapers. Very worthwhile.
Good, I'm glad you saw both :) Thank you for the recommendation - no, I haven't seen that film. I'll look for it. Have a great evening, and thank you for writing.
Wow...just looking at the condition of the school makes me appreciate home a little more. I feel sorry for the kids who have to learn in a building that's so run down that it has cracked walls.
LOL!
ping to #3
Isn't it amazing? I always think that could be a bullet-ridden wall too, sad. It's interesting to see the expressions on the older men's faces. These pics were about a year and a half ago, so I think things are better now.
I wasnt sure if that hole in the wall was from a bullet or not. I hope things are better now. At least the country is moving in a better direction.
Mogi and Mango.
Oh how cute! Are those your cats? My cat (who currently lives with my parents) is a similar color to Mogi, only a tad bit oranger. He's a very light orange.
LOL! Good One.
Awwww -you too? -love the oranges! I never realized until we got them that the orange cats are always (like 99%) male. We call them M and Ms for short. Our neighbors were riding around in the desert in the middle of nowhere, and found them in a tree. They were so tiny - I'll have to dig some of those pics out too. We already had seven, but I saw these two and just had to take them in. What could we do - can't turn such darlings over to the cat catcher!
You always find the best cartoons. I cut one out of the paper to post for you last week, but didn't get to it yet. I'll try tomorrow. ((hugs))
Mogi still has the kitten look here.
I didn't realize that they are almost always male. My family had an orange cat once that was a female. She was the sweetest cat anyone could ever have. She loved to be picked up and held - and would even let children hold her. She never bit anyone, and I never heard her actually cry until she was dying from cancer.
Cute!
