Why its is about O'Neill and not Kerry?

Posted on 08/13/2004 11:51:57 AM PDT by Remington Rebel

I have been wondering for some time now, everytime John E. O'Neill goes on a TV show to talk about his book. The host of show always makes it about HIM. The debate isnt about O'Neill its about Kerry, why do they NOT answer the charges, and keep attacking this man? The book isnt about HIM, HE ISNT GETTING MONEY FROM THE BOOK! ALL PROFITS HE IS GIVING TO NAVY CHARITIES! This is an honorable man! Hell, did Fat ass Michael Moore give all his profits to charity? I DONT THINK SO! DID THE LIBERAL MEDIA SLANDER MICHAEL MOORE? I DONT THINK SO! WTF!!! sorry im just a little upset... maybe the freepers in NY need to have a protest outside CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, building demanding that Kerry release his Military Records ASAP! also for them to quit slandering John E. O'Neill!

Because it's OK to question the honesty and service of 250+ Swiftboat vets but not the honesty and service of John Kerry.

I didn't see Hardball last night, but Rush played a bit of the scream-fest!

They would not let John answer one question!

I'm mad too!

The answer's clear, isn't it?

This swiftees' story is a classic case study on news media bias.

The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are not of the correct caste.

John Kerry is a Brahmin.

The SBVT members have no right to question someone of Kerry's social rank.

It just isn't done.

At least that's what Tim Russert et al think.

Not only the Swiftboat vets, but every single Vietnam Veteran still alive!

Growing up, I never understood why the Vietnam Vets were so badly treated upon their return home.

Now I know it was because of John F'n Kerry and his Jane Fonda Antiwar Liberals Friends!

They make it about him because he is so articulate, knowledgable and compelling that they can't defend Kerry on the merits. If they allow his story to play out uninterrupted, too many opinion leaders will begin to pay attention. Hence, the interruptions, shouting, insults, etc., anything to prevent his charges being fully heard out. The one exception I've seen was Hannity's show. That being said, the Democrats now have their new marching orders from the campaign: revise history. We'll see how it plays out, but O'Neill's chip, chip, chipping away has to really be hurting them with the potential of serious damage if any further credible allegations take hold.

Look, Kerry came back from Vietnam and went on record as saying the officers and sailors he served with were war criminals and murderers.

What's not to understand here? It really isn't about Bush. Of course these guys are going to want to tell their side of the story.

The Swift Boat Vets are making a statement for history. This will go into the history books. They are not denying that Kerry received the medals. They are only saying he is overstating or misstated the facts behind the medals. Anyone who was in the position of the Swift Boat Vets would want to tell their side of the story.

One more point. The Dems are making a point of saying that most of the Swift Boats Vets weren't are Kerry's boat. Did Kerry limit his accusations only to those who were on his own boat? No, Kerry talked about others he observed directly on other boats and in other situations. So turnabout is fair play.

I like the suggestion. But NY is 3,000 away. I'm working on a letter to the editor I'll be sending to local media essentially asking the question posed by this thread. We can all do the same thing.

Excellent point, as I assume you're talking about Kerry's accusations of war crimes conducted by pretty much every soldier in Vietnam at the time. Why the heck doesn't the media go back and review his "Winter Soldier" testimony and check it for it's veracity!?

Whoever said "When the revolution comes, we shoot all the lawyers first," should have made it "shoot all the mainstream news media types first."

This is nothing new from the media. It's called "The politics of personal destruction."

Well, it was either Mark Twain or Shakespeare. 90% of memorable quotes come from these two sources.

LOL...didn't see your second post until I'd sent my guess at Shakespeare. I guess we can forgive Shakespeare for not saying, "When the revolution comes, we'll kill all the talking heads on cable news shows first."
