Thanks, Amy. The weekend has been good so far, but the remnants of Hurricane Bonnie are dumping lots of rain here tonight!

Yep, I'm still up . . . but now you're probably asleep. LOL!
I've been paying some bills and cleaning up a bit tonight -- I'll be here for about another ten minutes.

SOME KEEP SUNDAY GOING TO CHURCH
by Emily Dickinson
American poet
(December 10, 1830 - May 15, 1886)
Some keep Sunday going to church
I keep it staying at home,
With a bobolink for a chorister,
And an orchard for a throne.
Some keep Sabbath in surplice,
I just wear my wings
And instead of tolling the bell for church,
Our little sexton sings.
God preaches, a noted clergyman,
And the sermon is never long,
So instead of going to heaven at last
I'm going all along.

I love rain. We usually get it in the winter and the early spring. Nothing more relaxing that listening to a nice rain when you go to bed.
Have a beautiful Sunday.

Good morning, Meekie.
The temp is 63 this morning so that coffee tastes very good.
It finally cooled off enough for something other than iced tea for breakfast. :)

Hi Everyone! Today is Sit Back and Relax Day. So...
To: All

Not Bread Alone
If bread were only heat-baked dough
I think I would not like it so,
But it is earth and rain and sun
And furrows where the pheasants run.
Golden light of dawn is spread
On each slice of wheaten bread.
When I wield the sharpened knife
I have cut a slice of life.

I will try, but I have a feeling it won't be so relaxing for me. Tomorrow I'm moving, so I have to finish packing and getting ready to go.

Hmmm, who knew that Emily Dickinson felt about going to church the way I do?
My Frequent Prayer
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
My eyes are stained glass windows,
Gods light shines to my soul.
With every breath I take,
I thank God for my role.
I have a part to play, you see.
With loneliness around.
For every only child I know,
A brother he has found.
Theres music in the world, I hear,
A drumbeat booms within my chest.
Im mindful that God wrote the score,
With every drummers rest.
And flutes there are, and fifes so sweet,
That glide across the day.
The feathered players know the tunes,
And never ask for pay.
My friends go by, theyre off to church,
And pray that I will follow.
But water becomes wine to me,
A sacrament to swallow,
And every crust of bread, to me,
Is sacred to behold,
And every coin that comes to me,
I feel is made of gold.
Im thankful for each breath I take,
With every word I say,
I just wish folks could understand,
That this is how I pray.
