Lord, we thank You for those who are serving in our armed forces. Each day they are making sacrifices so that our country can remain strong and free. Keep them safe under the shelter of Your wings. And Lord, for their families back home—whose loving support undergirds our armed forces, enabling them to do all that they are called on to do—we ask that You comfort them and give them Your peace...the peace that passes all understanding.

Now, Lord, we look to You as the Source of our strength, safety, and security in all things. And we thank You for the priceless gift of eternal freedom that You offer us through Your Son Jesus, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed! In Jesus' Name. Amen

Thanks, Jacqui, it's nice to receive evidence that someone, at least, is reading my poems.

I haven't written a poem about a glowworm, and truthfully, that one looks hard to beat. Maybe I can come up with something for fireflies. "Lightning bugs" we call them.

Good morning! Happy Tuesday! I am going to be busy trying to get my flag out today. I have been working on this project for days now... I hope today is the day. IT is a long story of drill bits, hard wood, cordless screw drivers... electrical outlets. But I think today is the day! Our neighborhood 4th of July party is right in front of my house.... so.. it is time to get the flag up. Can you believe the previous owners did not have a flag out.. ( Well they were from France) Everyone else in the neighborhood has their flags out all of the time. No wonder they moved!

Wish me luck- please... I will let you know how it goes!
