FROGS
TWO FROGS FELL INTO A DEEP CREAM BOWL,
ONE WAS AN OPTIMISTIC SOUL,
BUT THE OTHER TOOK A GLOOMY VIEW,
WE SHALL DROWN HE CRIED, WITHOUT MORE ADO!
SO WITH A LAST DESPAIRING CRY,
HE FLUNG UP HIS LEGS AND SAID " GOODBYE"
SAID THE FROG WITH A MERRY GRIN,
I CAN'T GET OUT, BUT I WON'T GIVE IN,
I'LL JUST SWIM AROUND TILL MY STRENGTH IS SPENT,
THEN I WILL DIE THE MORE CONTENT.
BRAVELY HE SWAM TILL IT DID SEEM,
HIS STRUGGLING BEGAN TO CHURN THE CREAM,
ON TOP OF THE BUTTER AT LAST HE STEPPED,
AND OUT OF THE BOWL AT LAST HE LEAPT.
WHAT OF THE MORAL? TIS EASILY FOUND,
`IF YOU CAN'T GET OUT
KEEP SWIMMING AROUND!!!!!!

Good morning, Meekie. Thanks for bringing coffee.
Our normal temps for this time of year is 100+, so far forecast is for temps below 100 thru the weekend.
Knock on wood, but what happened to global warming?
Have a great Tuesday.

And thank the ladies who are out there too. We marvel at their nerve. You'll marvel even more when you hear this little poem (authour unknown) which popped into my head at a particularly opportune time today... I was cranky, my mother was cranky, the cats were cranky... and then I thought of this and couldn't stop giggling.
THE GLOWWORM I wish I was a glowworm,
For a glowworm's never glum.
It's hard to be downhearted
When the sun shines out your....
*ahem*, I think I'll stop there

This just in: FROG FOUND
An Iranian woman has reportedly given birth to a frog. Clinical biologist says miracle amphibian has human similarities.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency, the unnamed woman from the southeastern city of Iranshahr delivered a live gray frog after what was called "a bizarre labor."
The animal's birth followed severe bleeding and was reportedly covered by mud.
Dr. Varasteh, a gynecologist, corroborated the unusual event to the Farsi-language daily Etemaad, saying the woman's menstrual cycle had stopped for six months and a May sonogram indicated the presence of a cyst in her abdomen.
Varasteh believes the frog larve entered the woman's body where it grew to adult size. Others, according to the BBC's translation of the Etemaad article, speculate that she unknowingly picked up the larve while swimming in dirty water.
But not all Iranian physicians are accepting this explanation. Etemaad notes that some medical experts have commented on the frog's similarity to a human.
A clinical biology expert, Dr. Aminifard, reportedly told Etemaad, "The similarities are in appearance, the shape of the fingers and the size and shape of the tongue."
The "so-called frog" has not yet been tested genetically, reports Etemaad.
The woman has two healthy children.
However, when her husband heard the news of the birth, he croaked.

It's A Long Story
Read: 2 Chronicles 36:11-17
He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed. Proverbs 29:1
Bible In One Year: Job 14-16; Acts 9:22-43
In August 1989, a major fire broke out under an elevated section of New Jersey's Interstate 78. The intense heat buckled parts of the highway and forced the closing of the East Coast artery. The governor said it was the worst transportation crisis in years.
An investigation brought to light a longstanding problem. It revealed that the fire broke out in a dump site in which construction debris had been collecting for many years. The owners of the site had been convicted of a multimillion dollar conspiracy to allow the illegal dumping of construction debris. But appeals in federal and state courts frustrated New Jersey's efforts to clean up the area. Not until the day after the fire did a state appeals court finally order the operator of the dump to stop accepting trash and begin clearing the site.
That fire tells a basic story of life. Most of our problems don't just happen. They are the result of a long series of bad decisions. Second Chronicles 36 illustrates this and reminds us that God will not allow His children to continue in sin. Even though He is longsuffering, His patience has a limit. If we don't correct the problem ourselves, we can be sure that He will discipline us.
Let's clean up the trash in our lives today. Mart De Haan
Lord, help me see my hidden sin,
Those secret wrongs that lurk within;
I would confess them all to Thee-
Transparent I would always be. D. De Haan
The most deadly sins do not leap upon us, they creep up on us.

Lorenzo to Jessica: "How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank!
Here will we sit and let the sounds of music
creep in our ears. Soft stillness and the night
become the touches of sweet harmony.
"Sit, Jessica. Look how the floor of heaven
is thick inlaid with patines of bright gold.
There's not the smallest orb which thou beholdest
but in his motion like an angel sings,
still choiring to the young-eyed cherubim."

Nice to see you today tonight. I've had some of those cranky days recently.
Did I tell you we have a new puppy? He is a seven week old Yellow Lab. We got him last Friday and we named him Louie/Max.
