Missy had to remind me last night that she is 21! I had forgotten. hahahahaha Dang, I don't feel old enough to have a daughter her age! :) Hi Jen, 21? She probably looks like your sister. You're pretty, smart, and oh, so lovely.
{{{NHH}}} LOL!! (is it big enough?)
Thanks for the margaritas.

Hi Amy,
I think his words should be played every morning in every classroom in this nation.
You're right. I wish kids would learn to love America, so when they'll grow up they'd become Republicans, hehe.

Dawn Rainbow
A rainbow only bounces back to you the color in the light.
You get something quite special when the circumstance is right.
An early morning shower when the sun had hardly shown,
Caused the rainbow to get dressed in haste, in colors not its own.
Full golden was the rainbow, with neon at the edge,
As the sun was rising sleepily from beyond its earthen ledge.
I had never seen a rainbow that was monochrome like that,
But I remember vividly just where I was and where it sat.
There was no gold to find down on the ground beneath the bow,
For all of it was utilized in putting forth the glow.
No doubt you think Im daft to even say I saw the sight,
For no one else has ever seen a rainbow in dawns light.

Best I could do; I would love to see a painting by Jacqui.

I've been trying to answer a few pings and do some yard work at the same time. Well, you are a lot tougher than I am. It is just too darned hot to be out doing yard work. And now there is humidity and clouds coming in.
I guess this is a little taste of things to come. I am looking forward to our trip to DC and North Carolina, but dreading the humidty that I know we are going to be dealing with back there.

If the weather is anything like what I experienced a few years ago, it will be he!!. The humidity almost did me in.
I did most of the yard work earlier. Just been going out now to check on watering.

Awww, you're too kind.
I haven't had the time or space to do a lot of painting of late. And then there's the taking of digital photos, webhosting, etc...
Right now I should be looking for work, cleaning the house, writing a letter to my ex-housemate informing him I will come by (with the police in tow if neccessary, which sadly it may be) to collect the rest of my stuff (as I had to leave in a hurry due to his violence)... all this in no particular order...
That's why I've been so quiet of late!

Very nice. There's even a hint of the secondary rainbow.
It has a nice golden glow to it. Almost what I witnessed. You know how the sky takes on strange hues at times, imagine what happens when a rainbow forms under those conditions.
A "certain slant of light" indeed.
I have always been like a little child, with my nose pressed up against the windows of the world...
...show me more, show me more. I don't want to be there yet.

That's a beautiful picture Amy. I love the golden field with the Lassie dog in it and that gorgeous rainbow. You always find the perfect illustration for our poets.

Darn, Jacqui.
So much pesky annoyance, more than your share,
.. and all the world away.

We are all looking forward to when we can see more of your wonderful paintings.
We hope that your life gets back to the point where you have time to do the things you love and will be able to share them with your friends here.
Have a wonderful day, Jacqui.

The Pacific is but an ocean. Granted, one that takes 12 hours to fly across in a jumbo jet, but an ocean regardless.
The depressing thing is, at the end of the journey, you wind up at LAX - I hate that airport with a passion.

I couldn't find an image of the picture I formed while reading your poem but I thought that golden picture was very nice.
Glad that you liked it too.

Cheers, Amy. We just finished a long weekend here (Queen's Birthday, not that anyone really cares, it's a HOLIDAY!) and Tuesday's looking fine. Not a cloud in the sky that I can see... if it weren't for the fact that my feet are freezing, I wouldn't even know it was winter! :)
(Have to take the good where you find it, I guess...)
