Be there through your prayers. Ronald Reagan is one of the most powerful human influences in my life. He was like my grandfather in many ways. Which is a lot of why I am who I am.
I'm glad his long journey is over now and he has reached his destination.

You know what's neat about seeing all the people walk by to see Reagan? There are so many Generation X's bringing their children. It looks like there are parents younger than myself who have waiting in line for hours with their children to see him. I'm proud my generation is so eager to pay their respects.

They said on the news this morning that the funeral home is located in a mostly democratic area. When asked one woman said she did not vote for him but that he was a nice man.

Reagan was one heck of a man and leader. The Real Deal.I'm glad his long journey is over now and he has reached his destination.
Amen. And Nancy has been a real trooper standing by him all the way.

Ronald Reagan,
Until our time has come along,
Until our job is done.
Until we leave this mortal world,
Until we all are one.
Some day rewards we will receive,
Yes those rewards we've earned.
We will be thankful you were here,
So much from you we learned.
We learned that power comes through strength,
Applied with calm and grace.
We know we'll join you there some day,
There in that Better Place.
The Lord sent Ronald Reagan here,
And now back home He takes him.
We'll say a prayer for Nancy too,
From all of us who love them.

Gen X'ers like ourselves grew up during the Reagan Era, so we got to see in our mis-spent youth the charatcer of the man.
A quick walk-by poll of local Gen X'ers produces interesting results.
They hold conservative values despite the sometimes retro-punk clothing and dislike Hillary and Company with a passion.
But they usually keep it to themselves.
Weird, but interesting.
It is heartening that there are Gen X'ers there.

Your daughter had a wonderful "Birthday Buddy". Someone she can always look up to with admiration and respect.
I will be very nice and not mention your BD. ;)

Oh, sorry, I never perceived libraries as a place for a gang to hang out.

Who is having a Birthday today?!?! Well, as I go back thru this thread, so far we have Lady Jag with a birthday of August 14, Darksheare will be 29 in 12 days, and MeekOneGOP had his 3 year FR anniversary June 2.

I know.
It's surreal.
Besides, these guys aren't "real" gang members but wannabes.
It's almost funny, especially when they get busted for criminal activities, go to the local jail, and try to say they're gang members... and the real gang menmbers there go, "Oh yeah?"
I feel sorry for them in a way, but they won't learn and refuse to listen to reality.
If teh library could be moved, it'd be great.
But it's in an old Erie Railroad depot, pretty building, and not something that can move easily.
