Seize the day Seize whatever you can
Cause life slips away just like hourglass sand Excellent advice. And the older one gets, the faster that sand slips through.

"Seize the day Seize whatever you can
Cause life slips away just like hourglass sand..."
Dusting Time
I wiped some things on the mantel shelf,
When the hourglass tumbled by itself,
Dusting can wait, said the temporal sands,
Leaving me with time on my hands.
Minute particles everywhere,
My day was shot, I did declare.
I know time is running out,
But does it have to rush about?
Falling to us in its fleeting way,
It seems to be the same each day,
But some days are of longer sorts,
The sad ones and the bad reports.
And happy days go rushing by,
In just the blinking of an eye.
With time cascading through my hands,
I dwell on thoughts of ocean sands.
And times with you when days were long,
The oceans roll was our loves song.
The crying of the gulls that passed,
A warning that it could not last.
The sparkling gems of bygone years,
Were swimming in a sea of tears.
An ocean crashed upon my beach,
As I put sharp remnants out of reach.
Some things you have to put away,
Our memories are a free replay,
A way to laugh and smile and then,
Be sad that they can never be again.
For things may break when down they fall,
And that will happen to us all,
And yet with faith in God above,
We know that well live on, in love.
Should I become a memory,
The power of a God could be,
If no Big Bang ever did occur,
Imaginings was all we were.

Imaginings was all we were. Just a little something you jotted down this morning?
What a gift you have! Thanks for sharing it with us. :-)

Good Morning!!
As soon as I get these boxes unpacked I am going to come and play with you all! I have a little guy who thinks it is funny to swimming in the toilet and he keeps escaping into the backyard... he thinks he is going to slow me down..But I shall overcome!!! I shall be triumphant. ;}
HUGS TO EACH OF YOU!

MOOD
I see darkness, don't you?
Billowing, boiling, growing,
small on that horizon first,
growing slightly, then nearer,
and larger, a loom of clouds
spinning threads of mood.
The breath, the wind
falls silent, but for a while,
until it touches you, that first
breeze: cool, refreshing
banking the humid summer heat,
refreshing your mood.
The air thickens
and the breeze quickens,
and just there! You feel it,
more than hear, so low
the faint thrum of the coming storm,
and you sense the change in
the mood.
All you can do, is watch
the tower form above you,
darkening and roiling in the airs
above the hills,
is that a face there?
surely a nose and mouth,
and such a mood.
Dance for me, Storm,
flashing form,
booming voice,
as we two rejoice
in our mood.

I'm getting kinda lazy ... I haven't written a poem since yesterday.

Very good. I love to watch a storm (nature that is). But I am not moody unless I'm really happy or sad or angry or something like that.

Beautiful, Sarge!
I love storms! Not the scary dangerous ones they have in the Midwest. But a good storm breaks the monotony of a long dry summer. We have so few real storms here in the Central Valley.
Thanks for bringing your wonderful poems here.

LOL!

Your "Squeeze the Day" reminded me of that song.
Everyone has been so sad about the passing of Ronald Reagan, I didn't want us to forget about the time we now have to live.

Good morning, Sarge. That is moody and beautiful. It's so nice to hear from you again - wondering if you are in the midst of all the turmoil where you are deployed right now.
