We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor our brave members of the Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Well, last night's speech was all we could have hoped for. And in a week, or two, the President will again address a joint session of Congress and the Nation.
This will be a one - two punch, and send the Dems and other critics reeling.
It's too bad it has to get so political on the eve of war, but the Corrupt Party started it with its overly aggressive attacks before the SOTU was even delivered!
So there it is: the Dems will be reeling. Excellent!

I may have missed it with all of the distractions around here now. But I'll say Hi! and ask how your co-worker's wife is doing with her nervous breakdown? Has that screwed up your schedule a lot?

Yes it has John...she seems to be holding her own now.....but he is a nervous wreck worrying about her.

Sorry to hear about that. I've been in his position when I lost my second wife to mental illness. I'll add them to my prayer list.

You know, I think ol' LibertyBelt got too many of us thinking about the wrong part of the SOTU address. We've had plenty of time to hash Iraq out and most of us here are well on board.
I have to say -- and hope that I'm not seen as a Bush-basher at all -- that there are some parts of the speech that do not seem even remotely conservative. Specifically the education and environmental policies are two things that come to mind.
Did any of it bother you? I think it was a political winner, but I do think that he's giving up an awful lot of conservative principles to gain political leverage (if that's what's going on).
Here's someone who goes pretty far in criticizing the speech as not being nearly conservative enough:

Chair, I'd like your take on some of the SOTU address commented on in the link above in #393.
Thanks!

I told mware to look for you at CPAC....she is already there. I will go early in the morning. I have business at the NFCU Credit Union nearby, so I'll have time to do that and get registered.
To: Mr. Mulliner
Granted parts of his speech were a little over the top.....on the spending. But as he proposed each part of his agenda you could see the DEMS getting madder and madder....
He took every one of their issues and shoved them back down there throat...:-)

I thought this was a great big-picture analysis of the war on terror and why knocking out Saddam Hussein will lead to a decisive victory over AQ.

Guennie, Stepping out of lurker mode for a moment...Is this son you are speaking of the one who lost his job fairly recently? If so, please tell him to NEVER give up or lose heart.
My husband has been unemployed for a year and a half. He is a highly qualified electronics engineer and has sent out over 250 resumes for jobs he was well matched to. He had only 3 interviews in that time period. BUT...just this week he was finally offered a job, in his field, and at a large local company.
It truly seems a miracle to us because he is 60 years old and most jobs are going to the younger people these days. We just kept trusting that God would provide, and in the meantime our job was to set a good example of faith and trust. Our survival mode consisted of staying home a lot and spending as little money as possible.
It is hard to do...VERY hard. But with the faith that you all have, I am certain that something good will turn up for him. I hope these don't just sound like empty words ...I mean them as encouragement from someone who has recently lived through the angst and anxiety that this situation produces.
Prayers and best wishes to you and your family.
