RFK's new initiative is looking to take aim at all the junk:
Rest in peace, food pyramid!
Long live the Trump Triangle of health! And with health advice like this, long life is much more likely.
The new website to promote the Trump dietary guidelines is realfood.gov! And, if you'll notice, it's essentially the inverse of the old food pyramid, pictured here 👇
Wikipedia/USDA Protein, dairy, and fat are now at the top of the graphic.
Here's RFK promoting the real food campaign and attacking the ultra-processed food industry at today's dietary guideline announcement:
The hard truth is that our government has been lying to us to protect corporate profit taking. Telling us that these food-like substances were beneficial to public health.
Federal policy promoted and subsidized highly processed foods and refined carbohydrates and turned a blind eye to the disastrous consequences.
Today the lies stop.
Liberals on Bluesky are not happy:
Expect the liberal boycott of Whole Foods any time now. Dems are about to start eating Doritos Locos Tacos and chugging white Monster energy drinks in protest, I'm sure.
It's 2026 and the government is having to tell Americans that they're supposed to eat real food.
Clown world is an understatement.
But it's hard to argue that this isn't a positive development.

There isn’t a day that goes by that they aren’t upset over something. It’s part of being a liberal. It’s ingrained in their being. They aren’t happy unless they are unhappy...............

Moreover, it’s nearly impossible to find “whole wheat” in supermarkets, since most of its fat & protein rich germ has been removed or “ultra processed” to improve conservation. So the “whole bread” that people buy is a scam. If you can really find whole bread, it tastes like crap.
Finally, the elephant in the room is that wheat is loaded with ... carbs, allergens and anti-nutrients. A lot of people can’t even eat it but don’t know it because of the “healthy food” propaganda (I have a friend who is constantly sick by food over her first 40 years until she is diagnosed as allegic to gluten, not by a doctor, not by a nutritionnist or other useless specialists she consulted but by a shop vendor!).

That’s because leftism is a mental disorder.
This “new” fancy-schmancy food pyramid is exactly how those in my parents’ generation ate every day. Mom just died at 99 y.o., and her friends and family members lived very long lives, too.

Now come up with a routine that a 70 year old with degenerative disc disease to do. I can’t find anything I can do to help build up muscle and lose weight that doesn’t hurt my back. Help!
While at dinner with friends, I watched as he put 22 pats of butter on a potato. I asked him about his cholesterol. He is round shaped, and way overweight. It was 82. Butter is good for us. And get out in the sunshine without the chemicals on the skin. You need sun every day so you don’t get burnt in July at first exposure.
Whole wheat made up over 50% of human calories for centuries. Even in the US.
As far as availability, I have never been unable to find it at any grocery store I shopped at.

Depends. White rice is not a whole grain.
Foods that are high in starch such as whole grains should be eaten in combination with foods that are high in protein, and healthful fats. Either that or they should be eaten after you have had such foods. Yes whole grains are healthful but they still will raise blood sugar (at a much lower rate due to their fiber content than refined grains) so how and when they are eaten does make a difference. They should not be the building block of our diet as the old pyramid shows.
