My cholesterol came back within normal range. When I mentioned this to a neurologist he shot me down saying for stroke purposes we want to see it under a number that I can’t remember. Seems like he said 50 . The number was so low I was shocked but it might have been higher more in the 70s range.

But it really doesn’t matter in my case because I have a condition so rare very few surgeons in the world operate on it because the surgery is so risky and it does involve my vascular system.

So I just said forget all the cholesterol hubbub. He ordered Plavix for me but so much mixed reviews on it I am not taking it.

Plavix is an anticoagulant not a cholesterol medication. If you have good insurance, it’s fine. Aspirin is fine too.
I am a minimalist when it comes to medication vs. food. Life is for living.
Wishing health and happiness to all!

I’m fine with all of them. Mr. GG2 will take one look at the plate and either say “where’s the meat?” Or “where’s the potato?”. 😆

Beef Barley soup.

Contains (obviously) beef, pearl barley, carrots, onions, turnips (instead of potatoes, they work better and saves carbs), bay leaves and lots of parsley for seasoning. And salt and pepper to taste. Could add garlic and finely diced fried bacon for extra flavor.

It’s almost like a stew with the barley making a sort of gravy.

Our Brussel Sprouts are done by frying bacon cut into squares and then removing them from the heat.

Add halved Brussel sprouts and stir fry for about 10 mins. Add some diced onion and fry until soft. Add back bacon.

Plavix isn’t fine if you are already having issues with brain bleeds while at the same time having mechanical issues impinging on internal carotid artery and internal jugular vein.

It is the proverbial rock and a hard place.

Inn soups, use turnips instead of potatoes.

Mr. mm didn’t know for years.

Going to try this! We love potatoes (who doesn’t?) but I really try to limit how often we eat them. I bet I can get hubby to eat turnips and like them. Anything we can do to keep the weight off, and our numbers good. We both have normal / high normal BMI.
