Most Democrats seem to be getting over last week’s thumping well enough, but a horrific fraction seem to have bought into their leaders’ irresponsible, apocalyptic rhetoric — and so are damaging themselves, their families and even their children.
The most obvious case is Anthony Nephew, the Minnesota man who apparently killed his wife, ex-partner and his two sons before taking his own life in reaction to Donald Trump’s victory.
Yes, he evidently had longstanding mental-health issues; we’ll never know how much of his final crisis came from marinating for years in the extremist, hateful rhetoric now common on the left.
But there’s some connection: Why else did Democrats from President Biden on down call for a lowering of the temperature after the first attempt to assassinate Donald Trump?
Too bad the whole party quickly turned back to “fascist” and “end of democracy,” not to mention “Nazi” and “garbage.”
And pushing outright lies about abortion, their other main issue this year.
For the record, no state bans aborting an ectopic pregnancy. None of them criminalizes having a miscarriage, nor surgery to save the mother’s life. Every hospital in America is legally obliged to treat a woman suffering complications after taking abortion pills.
All the folks spreading misinformation to the contrary (including, obscenely, health professionals and so-called journalists) are, sickly, endangering the lives of vulnerable women.
Yet rank, hateful distortion is now routine for Democrats: Back in 2021, recall, Biden was raging about “Jim Crow 2.0,” the Georgia voting law that . . . has now seen two straight elections (2022 and 2024) with record turnout. (Major League Baseball still owes Atlanta an apology for pulling the All-Star Game over that.)

I’m with you.
I wish people would caption photos.
Far too many post pictures of people assuming that just because they know what it’s about, everyone does.
I always found that kind of arrogant and smug.
The seeds for widespread mental illness were planted by legalizing abortion.
Teaching in public schools that it’s just another form of birth control while major media refused to report on what abortion really is and, instead, focused on “choice” and “my body” set the stage for ignorant women, in fear and in haste, to use abortion as an easy answer to an unwanted pregnancy.
This great and hideous lie has caused millions of women and men to realize the truth only after an abortion and then forever after to suffer the consequences of knowing that they chose to murder their own child.
Although it is different circumstances, the movie “Sophie’s Choice” is a heartbreaking illustration of the consequences of sacrificing one’s own child.
The book was basically describing those with Narcissistic Personality Disirder as the definition of evil which is an a good assessment.
I feel the same way about acronyms. People use them without first defining them, and assume everyone knows what they mean. KWIS?*
*know what I’m saying?
I would not have figured that one out.
I agree about them as well, even though there are a few I do use, like FWIW, IIRC, and the less common, GMTA.
These behaviors can manifest in other personality disorders, such as Antisocial Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder (in certain contexts), and even in individuals without diagnosable conditions.
Name tbeory...ladies, never date a guy named nephew.
I read it 40+ year ago. It is quite good at explaining the subtleties of evil. So easy to point to mass shootings, etc. as being evil acts ( they are) but evil is more like carbon monoxide in that is subtle and pervasive. Fascinating topic
I’m quite aware of that but in the book, M. Scott Peck makes the correlation between NPD and evil. That was my point.
I thought Peck’s exploration was broader, framing 'evil' as a complex, moral failing rather than a clinical condition.
Given what we're seeing with the Democrats, it might be time for me to dig the book up and give it another read.;-)
“That’s exactly who the Democrat Party caters to.”
That’s exactly what the Democrat Party IS.
Wonderful.

“we’ve rebranded evil and demonic activity as *mental illness* for far too many people.”
Some believe that half of the people in mental institutions actually are possessed.
“The Dark Principalities and Powers in the heavenly realms are able to oppress people via thoughts. Worse for the unsaved.
This is why the Apostle Paul said sing to yourself (Christians) hymns. Sometimes I’ll roll through several Christian songs when I’m feeling weary from battles.
I personally have seen those weak in the Faith coming up with all sorts of notions of things that aren’t happening. But then, initiate personal struggles resulting in arguments, etc.”
Back in Biblical days, humans had no concept of computers. The human brain is, in essence, an organic computer that scientists still don’t know much about...or don’t know enough about. One thing I’ve read is that human thoughts are electrical synapses.
It’s all very complex, but I’m thinking that the fallen ones have the ability to “hack” our brain/computer and send evil thoughts to us. They seek to divide us, so they send “thoughts” that make us question or turn against those we love and against our fellow humans. The only way to really fight against it is to be aware of it and to be able to identify it when it happens. If you know what it is and where it’s coming from, you can consciously tune it out and ignore it. All Christians need to know this and practice that “tuning it out”.
A lot of folks just chalk it up to hormones, mood swings, etc... but some of it is, in actuality, coming from the dark side, literally. Hence, ...the phrase “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood” is from Ephesians 6:12 in the Bible. It emphasizes that our struggles are not merely physical, but also involve spiritual forces and wickedness. I have often considered that those people that are severely mentally ill are ones that have been most severely attacked by the evil ones and were too weak to resist or fight back as non-Christians.
King James Bible
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.)
And lemme tell you
They are real AND relentless
Doing this for thirty years...OUCH
