Scientists discover remains of a 'buried planet' deep inside EARTH
Daily Mail UK ^ | May 6, 2024 | MATTHEW PHELAN - SENIOR SCIENCE REPO

A new study of metal ore deep inside the moon is offering fresh evidence that Earth's natural satellite was formed by an ancient planet crashing into Earth long ago.

This long-theorized interplanetary collision — which scientists believe occurred some 4.5 billion years ago — saw a Mars-sized planet named 'Theia' slice itself into hot lava fragments upon impact with the Earth.

While some of Theia's planetary remains appear to be buried as dense and massive 'blobs' deep underneath Africa and the Pacific Ocean's tectonic plates, scientists said evidence for where the rest of Theia went after this crash had remained elusive.

But now, new data from NASA's Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) spacecraft has found large telltale deposits of titanium-iron ore deep beneath the moon's surface, suggesting Theia's other remains did, in fact, form Earth's moon.

Planetary geophysicist, Adrien Broquet of the German Aerospace Center in Berlin, described NASA's GRAIL findings as nothing short of 'mesmerizing.'

His team's new paper, published this April in Nature Geoscience, focused on 'gravity anomalies' deep under the moon's surface: dense, heavy pockets of matter identified by the GRAIL spacecraft's sensors.

'Analyzing these variations in the moon's gravity field allowed us to peek under the moon's surface and see what lies beneath,' Broquet said.

except they aren’t “deposits” ...

I am not for massive mining extraction from the moon.

The earth-moon relationship, which has a lot of impact on quite a number of things on earth as we know it, is in part based on the gravitational pull of the moon in it’s earth orbit, which is a factor impacted by moon’s specific gravity, which is based on its mass. We should not be messing with the mass of the moon. Any measurable change to it can have unforeseen consequences on earth.

Zecharia Sitchin interpreted their accounts correctly

Except that the insurance salesman did not. Sumerian to English dictionary is online, and you can easily see he made the whole thing up for your self.

I don’t have the link to it.

If the collision happened 4.5 billion years ago, how do they know the planet was named ‘Theia’?

That's how things go bad in that Time Machine movie from 2001 or so:

No amount of human activity, short of using some kind of superbomb or redirected asteroid to destroy it or a large part of it, will have any measurable change to the Earth-Moon relationship.

/bingo

I would have put it differently, something more along the lines of, Sitchin was either a lying fraud or a delusional fraud. Or maybe just, Sitchin was full of ****.

“No amount of human activity”

I believe you are wrong. Massive minning extractions from the moon over some long period of time could do it. The moon is only 1.2% of the mass of the earth yet its impact is large in many ways. Changing its mass by massive minning extractions could over time change the affect it has on the earth.

It was ‘theorized’, but had no definitive ‘proof’................

I remember reading about this as a possibility over 65 years ago. An book showed several scenarios on how the moon was possibly formed.

Scenes like THAT are why I decided never to purposely watch the movie Aliens. Nein Danke!
Same goes for those SAW Movies.

At the same time, I fully enjoyed a series of 13 books by
Patricia Cornwell, about this Medical Examinier who lives in Virginia. Tons of morbid, gory things going on there.

Interesting cartoons, look like they came from a lava lamp encounter. About all the credibility this has is that it could have happened that way. Maybe, possibly, perhaps.
