Buried in the "Framework for Federal Scientific Integrity Policy and Practice" released by the White House in January is language banning scientists from speaking without prior approval, and even then only about certain topics.
That has critics, and First Amendment advocates concerned.
"This policy is problematic in many ways," said former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spokesman Glen Nowak. "This could become a major impediment to being able to communicate science, which is not just about findings but what those findings suggest and what they mean."
The rule, which is listed under a subhead reading "Ensuring the Free Flow of Scientific Information," outlines under what circumstances scientists can speak.
What is it with Republican legislatures that they think gender identity and sexual orientation has any place in school? Florida passed legislation that prevents it K-3rd grade, like the legislation Wyoming is trying to pass, yet it can be taught in 4th grade and beyond.
This is a weak effort by any Republican legislature. Where are parents? IMO it is the parents responsibility to teach sexual orientation or gender nonsense not the schools and gender identity and sexual orientation have no place in school including high school let elementary school. This garbage was never brought up in school when I was a kid even in “sex” ed or biology.

When I was in school they had a separate class for boys and girls, separated, a one time thing, basics. Even that should be left to parents.
