I suppose that’s one interpretation of his remarks, but I’ll let him speak for himself if he so desires.

That 99% would include you and all Trump syncophants. So who is it you’re deriding again?

We vote for the closest thing we can, which is R (unless the rare time some Dem actually looks better - for me only once, for Comptroller). Most of us do NOT take our ball and go home, but pull the lever despite our misgivings.

That’s what grown-ups do.

We voted for Bush, and Romney, and McCain, and some of us got to vote for Reagan (not I), and for Trump. Doesn’t matter as long as it’s not the D.

Nope, it still counts, because as GE knew, it is a window into your soul.

Trump, BTW, never tasted MIL. Just another hypocrisy I see from his devotees. For years they’d cry that everyone has to have MIL service to really lead, but for Trump that argument completely went away. (I don’t buy it, but it was a frequent comment made around here.). Defended Bush by saying at least he was in a National Guard, when Dems were trying to deride him for “hiding” in NG.

Nobody is perfect.

Everyone has puts and takes.

The key is to not obsess about deficiencies, but to FIX them. And I don't see any fixing happening in Trump...in fact it's getting worse.

Take Tom Brady....I'm sure Tampa Bay was DELIGHTED that he came out of retirement.

But now the GOAT looks like an average quarterback...actually sub-average. Sure, he's a winner and probably can motivate a team like few others can do. There IS value in the intangibles.

But at some point, you have to look at the ledger. That Brady calculus is poor vs prior years.

Plus Brady also split from his wife and THAT has got to be weighing on him as well.

Tampa Bay may give Brady one more year then cut him. Maybe they cut him in the off season. I wouldn't fault them for that move at all. But at least there is analysis happening.

Again, Trump was the GOAT. The legitimate question is, do the negatives outweigh the positives?

To ask such a question is what the Founders would demand. To suppress such an inquiry is what Stalin would demand.

It is, I believe, an error to equate political leadership with military leadership.

Military leaders are chosen only for their ability. That’s the theory, anyway.

On the other hand, political leaders are often chosen for their their public image. Bill Clinton is a perfect example of that. He shows up on same late-night talk show, and plays the saxophone. Everyone in the audience cheers, when they should have been asking themselves, “What does that have to do with being a good president?”

So unfortunately, you’ve got to play the PR game if you want the votes. I thought Trump was pretty good at that back in 2016. But for some reason he’s let that slip.

I won’t go through every cabinet member but the fact that so many in government are willing to work against the President isn’t necessarily a failure of Trump. People who worked with him or even knew him in the private sector are extremely loyal to him and helped him build a great business. Lifetime government pukes who can get through Senate confirmation is a bit different. Would Trump have picked Wray if he could get Levin though the Senate? Would he have picked Tillerson if he could have gotten Rudy through the Senate? Trump’s personnel picks were people the deep state would allow him to pick. A major failing of the structure of the Republic is the fact that the Senate gets to (for all intent and purpose these days)staff the executive branch. When Trump could pick his people he picked very different people in his campaign. He absolutely would have picked Flynn over Mattis if the Senate would have let him. I remember those hearing, Rubio was so worried Trump was going to be brining in people who were weak on Russia. Every question was about Russia. What a joke.

>>Like a beloved performer who can’t remember his lines or carry a tune anymore.

Let’s not forget the ‘lets suspend the constitution’ tweet - even if taken out of context, is smells *exactly* like what the left has been calling him for 4+ years - a dictator - why give them more ammo?

That quote did it for me - he is done, that quote will haunt him forever and will appear in almost any anti-trump advertising for as long as he is in the public eye - the trump cards are just yet another self-inflicted distraction.

I am not a fam of having a team of lawyers vetting everything he tweets - but if he is going to take on that himself, he should vet them himself a bit more carefully.

My husband pointed out that 45,000 x $1 = $45,000, not $4.5 million.

You are thinking of the trading cards we grew up with! Like the Topps baseball cards that would come ten to a 25 cent pack with a thin sheet of chewing gum that would break into a hundred pieces when it got stale. We would get 100 Denny Doyles before we got one Rod Carew. And that Rod Carew would be carefully slipped into a plastic card protector and inserted into a three-ring binder, destined to sit in a cardboard box in your mother's attic for the next few decades while you went out and lived your life.

The Denny Doyles, we'd clothespin them to the spokes of our Huffy bikes so that we would make an awful racket riding down the street.

Anyhow, these NFT cards are not even in the same ballpark as those trading cards. Yet I can tell that this is how many Freepers think of them.

I have no interest in collecting trading cards whether they are the old fashioned cardboard type that even today sell for mostly pennies or the $99 digital ones that are created out of blockchain and typically held for investment value like you would any other bitcoin.

Just wanted to make sure everybody knew the difference. These cards aren't being bought by old people in trailer parks, they are getting snapped up by well-heeled investers who see a value in them long term.

Not a never Trumper- voted for him twice. This was a stupud idea. He isn’t a god, or Superman or anything more than a man, a human. With talents and flaws. The worship of him is so frustrating to watch. Otherwise sane, grounded people just think he can do no wrong. If someone dares to criticize something he does or says, immediately they’re cast into the cauldron of RINO soup. Utter nonsense. Reminds me of the ohhhs and ahhhss for Obama. Same foolishness.

Trump also has some great ideas and proven policies that I cheered and celebrated.

Independent, individual thinking pays dividends.

I honestly think TDS ruined their brains. Anything “against” Trump is blasphemy.

The cult of personality is for Democrats.

“...so easily...”

That’s gaslighting. FWIW. Shouldn’t oughta do that.

Never presume to tell someone what’s going on in their mind. Particularly when that information is freely available to you, for the asking, from the horse’s mouth itself.
