Pieces of ‘fireball’ meteor that exploded over Mississippi are being found, NASA says

Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

I’m cooking all my zucchini from the last five days. I’ll eat some of it for dinner, and freeze the rest to make into soup at some future time.

Hopefully it’s a gas-powered car.
I read an article about a family that bought a used EV. It needs a new battery. Replacing the battery will cost more than the car did.
(Don’t tell Pete Buttigieg.)

It’s a gas powered car: a 2004 Volvo sedan with one previous owner, an elderly Presbyterian minister from the Midwest.

When I hear you talk about zucchini, all I want to do is make some zucchini bread! Some day!

I think he’ll stick with it forever rather than spend more money. It seems like he was going to accept being third banana with the Avalon forever, until I learned about the Volvo at a very low price.

I give all the credit to iced coffee.
Customer will be coming in tomorrow to go over the list of series I have for her. This is nearly as much fun as the time that someone asked me for a book of short stories for children, you know, the one with the red cover.
I love my job.

Then Good for him!
I seem to have an excessive amount of the sniffles, today, and I’m wondering if it has anything to do with Monday’s breakfast. The party I was with seems to have had all the signs of a cold.
Anyway, I believe I’ll be heading down the hall in a little while. Besides, I can only manage about three episodes of Hercule and his little gray cells before I start to wince at the dialog.

Good job on the 3/6!
And good for you, knowing how to please the customer!
Once I tasted iced coffee, I could never go back to drinking it hot. It just wasn’t as much fun, for some reason.

I like my coffee hot, even at camp. On Sunday morning, a man in a pickup brought coffee to the campsites for the leaders!

I used to drink it hot, even in the heat of the desert, but I prefer all my drinks iced, now!
How thoughtful of the man in the pickup to bring coffee for the leaders!

I have told my employees repeatedly that we live and die on customer service. I will never forget the time I was in a bookstore (not mine!) and a customer asked one of the clerks to help her find a fiction book for a school project. The clerk did not even look at her, just said in what I took to be a snooty tone "I only read "NON-fiction" and brushed on by her.
ACK!
What the frack?
Just because I was there I took it on myself to go up to the young lady and ask if I could help her. Took about three minutes to find her four or five options. I did not do it to help the store, I did it because anyone who wants to read a book is my friend, at least potentially.
